It'll go against DA being about the story of Thedas, a new story from a different perspective. Having it be the same character over and over like Mass Effect will interfere
I disagree. Just because it is the same protagonist doesn't stop the franchise being the story of Thedas. In fact, with an already established protagonist it opens up more possibilities for telling the story of Thedas since half the game won't be devoted to building the protagonist up.

I imagine that the dispute is less because of what you've done for them and more because you are becoming very powerful. With that power, you threaten the power of the leadership of Ferelden and Orlais, even if you have no intention of being anything more than a neutral arbiter, never reaching for further power.
It's kind of like how the final boss looks at you as a threat, even if you don't have any intention whatsoever to rival him.
Even though Metal Gear is out a week before this DLC drops I'll have to take a small break to see the finale of my Inquisitior's story. I can't wait!

No, instead 3/4 of the game will be devoted to spectacularly lengthy cameos from the protagonist's ever-increasing stable of friends, enemies, and comic reliefs, until you start to think that the Galaxy Thedas is about the size of a postage stamp, while the rationale for why nobody but the protagonist can do ANYTHING becomes more and more absurd and convoluted.

So no different than earlier games where even with a new protagonist we had several lengthy cameos of characters from previous games and the only reason you're needed is because the other protagonists vanished thus you are their backup?

Since I've watched the Trailer, my Lady Adaar has cleared Storm Coast, Fallow Mire, and Shardville. Just need to go through a section of the temple, then clear out the rest of the rifts in Hinterlands, and I'll be onto Skyhold!
