There are no ways to definitively end your story without ceding all control of the characters in it... and BioWare's not going to do that.

Well, they could trap you in the nether realm and break all the eluvians that lead in or out and effectively isolate your character from the rest of the setting. Is that more of what you had in mind?

While killing someone is certainly the easiest way to end things I can think of one option that would quite easily end the story of the inquisitor without them dying. They lose the mark. The mark is what makes them special/chosen and puts them in a position of power because they have the ability to do things no other person can. Without it they’re just a normal person. Even if they didn't lose the mark, if we get the option to disband the inquisition then the inqsuitor becomes a kind of non-entity within thedas anyway, again without dying.

Well, that's not ominous at all... There is an obvious figure in the nearest eluvian, though I'm not sure who. Solas would be the obvious candidate, but maybe it's the Inquisitor? Maybe Levellan decided to disband the Inquisition and "retire" and go through the eluvian with Solas, hence the discarded helmet? It is an eluvian flanked by statues of Fen'Harel after all. And I love the classic dragon shape!

The helm makes me think the Dark Knight Rises...

All legends have an end.

Yeah, that is indeed different parts of Skyhold all meshed together, my bad. Though there are torches on the bridge to get there. New hub? I wonder what will happen to Skyhold...

This is what I think as well, based on the trailer and tweets. The Inquisitor yelling with Leliana, Cass and Harding in the room with the table? that's not at Skyhold.

It starts in the Winter Palace, so that may be the hub for the DLC.

But that doesn't definitively end your story unless you cut ties with everybody you know (including any potential romance partner).

Because BioWare can and will use those characters in the future, and your Inquisitor will not be there.

The Warden's story is definitively over by your definition (maybe a little muddy after Awakening, but still basically concluded).

I suppose that's possible seeing as there is an eluvian there. You could just travel back. It looks like the qunari will interrupt your trial/meeting, forcing you to fight through the eluvian network.

The devs have stated that the wardens story is over though, admittedly their version of ‘over’ is weird given that they keep bringing them back in codecs and such but they have stated many times that they have no intention on them coming back in person. No reason to believe they won’t do the same to the inquisitor. They’ll still be there in the world but they’ll be little more than set dressing. Anyway lets stop this you clearly won't budge from your belief our inky's are going to bite the dust and it’s nearly 6am where I am and I haven’t had a wink of sleep so my ability to make words is compromised to say the least.

Yeah, the helmet/mask was dropped. The batman and inquisitor are condemned by who they saved. Especially, the legends of them both end. That's kind of tragically stirring mood. I would not say it's a bad thing even if the art salutes the Dark Knight Rises. That's great.

I can see it now, knowing our Inquisitor's luck.

Noble: "How long until you bring us into another war?"

Inquisitor: "I-"

Qunari: "Wassup!" *starts attacking the chamber*

:P

Haha exactly. "Have you seen anyone with a glowing hand around? We need to kill them."

I can definitely see them getting pretty annoyed at you again.

I don't think they're going to die at all.

I just don't think you mean "definitive" when you say you want a definitive end. There's no way to achieve that while accounting for player choice unless they kill you (or otherwise isolate you from the setting) or decide to never use any of the characters who are also part of your story (unless you plan to sever ties with everyone before the end).

So, I haven't seen anyone bring this up: Is the female qunari in the trailer possibly the Arigena or Ariqun? That would seem to make sense, and that way they can avoid having the Arishok in the DLC. Either way, she's the first female qunari in the entire series except a possible Inquisitor. Wow! That took long enough, didn't it?

@Mike_Laidlaw is the wardrobe and the golden nug coming out as a patch? Or along with the DLC and if so is it at the same time?

Nug and wardrobe are part of a patch. Avail for all PS4, X1 and PC players.

Yes, but "when", that is the real question. (hopefully this Tuesday, so we get a chance to play around with the new features before the DLC launches)

I don't think the Arigena or Ariqun leave Par Vollen due to what their domains are. Chances are she and the others are Ben-Hassrath.

Kinda looks like they're rushing to end the series through DLC instead of making a new game.

Actually thought of the N-7 helm lying atop the rubble at the end of ME3; do not have Batman games.

Agreed, I'd love it if the patch was this week.

You could be right, but the qunari are known to justify anything with insane-troll-logic, so you never know.

Edit: I'll just add that there are too many types or qunari in the DLC and too many individuals to be Ben-Hassrath, I think. Some could be though.

Why? This DLC doesn't look like the end of the series to me, just the current game.

Also a good connection, though I forgot it completely, myself. Was it in all the endings? I don't remember.

Was in all the endings that I recall; part of the montage in the aftermath of decisions.

Hmm, thanks. Oh, I think I just remembered what was nagging me. It is shown longer depending on how many notable characters died.

Anyway, sorry for the off-topic.
