What are you talking about?
German language is cool as ****.
I'm German and I agree in general.
Still like the original way better though!

I play in German and my love for the deeper male Inquisitors voice is bordering on the absurd. I cannot play another voice anymore. And believe me, I tried all of them in English and German. Male and Female.
Oh I know the feeling.
He has a truly amazing voice
. I tried to create an Inquisitor who looks like Boromir but failed horribly. ![]()
Some people get banned all together for a bad word, which I find ironic as the trailer itself has the f word. Lol.
Our moderators are useless.
I'm mostly bracing myself for the inevitable letdown. Not of the game, of course, I'm not one of those people, but of the "it's over" feeling I know I'm going to have when I finish it. Sort of the day after Christmas feeling.
@Elhanan:
Vivienne: "If you think this atrocity of fashion will deminish my magnificence, you are in for a dissapointment, dear."
Thank you so much for this. The countdown clock reassures me that time has *not* slowed down. Feels like it has actually stopped. One of my subscribers sent me this lovely countdown to the DLC:

Bioware, Please Make A Plus-Sized Female Dragon Age Character! http://bit.ly/1XcbSwl #esc
It's ok to cosplay outside your body type but not your skin color? "I'm not a "cosplay for your body type" purist. If you like a costume, you should wear that costume. Period....There's no practical reason Josephine from Dragon Age: Inquisition can be recreated at any size. Provided you've got darker skin. A Josephine cosplay should really be reserved for cosplayers who look Antivan."

There's really a derth of fat people in Dragon Age. Where's all the fat Orlesian nobles, Bioware?

I think the notion is kind of along the lines that this type of cosplay is self-insert . . . you're putting *yourself* in the role of the character, so too much artificial altering of your own natural features isn't desirable. A lot of people have the presumption that skin-darkening is a form of "blackface" too.
But I don't see why plus-sized gals can't play as Qunari. If I were into it, I'd totally rock a Qunari matriarch costume. Although I'd have to spray-tan. A lot. I'm pale.

Why spray-tan? Qunari are grey-skinned. Sten was like the qunari equivalent of an albino.

This. It'll feel so unreal. "It's really the end? Really?" It'll take days for that thought to finally get through to me.

Being really fat wasn't that common until around 30ish years ago. (It was uncommon enough that you could work as a carnival attraction 70+ years ago.) A little pudge, maybe, but us huge folks as a substantial (hah) portion of the population are a modern invention.
Also, I understand that it's hard to make a sympathetic fat character because most people have a squick reaction that's difficult to get around. That's why it's so easy to make the Broodmother horrifying. Most fatties get played for laughs. And if they're just going to be another ordinary character, why would you think to go to all the extra effort of designing a single-use completely unique body model for them? They've had enough trouble getting armors to work with IB's body.
I don't mind, because I see it as a technical limitation rather than as an effort to actively exclude the differently-shaped. Video games don't have the same setup as hollywood movies.

Because I hate greasepaint THAT MUCH. Also Sten was my favorite Origins character so to me, he's the canon Qunari appearance.
Pretty sure the article was about cosplaying for busty women, not obese women....

Not really, the article mentions multiple times that many of the outfits in dragon age can be problematic for plus sized women to do for multiple reasons, big boobs is just the main one in their opinion given the lack of support with certain outfits like Morrigans. The main point of the article however is asking for more body diversity in the next game. Skinny people who can/want to pull of the elf look can do so with characters like Sera and Merril but there is no character for plus sized people.
There's also a german trailer of the "Trespasser DLC"
Although I'm a bit disappointed because it sounds really lame in comparison to the english trailer and the Inquisitors angry rant is really bad translated.
And they took the female voice which is not as good as the other female voice option (imo).
Back from work. I just watched it.
Oh my. The translation. *sigh*
I always have problems with that female voice option. It´s the German voice of Seven of Nine, and I cannot look past that. ![]()

It's a video game; everyone's in shape and jacked with 6 pack abs. Whatever. I also don't like the idea of designing characters to cater to cosplayers.
The npcs in general could really use different body types though. Illustrates different ways of life etc.
True, but I suspect this is mostly a resource allocation issue. It seems like a lot of work to create so many different NPC assets.
