Are there any spoilers in the interview?

Uh, in this case I would say spoiler is a relative term. You do hear a smidgen about the story. Depending on how sensitive you are to spoilers I would just wait till next Tuesday.

Also, I'm a little annoyed with the whole 'Trespasser will make you cry' thing. It sets up an expectation that the DLC at some point will garner a specific reaction from me and it'll be in the back of my head in every cutscene. "Is this the part he meant?"

It was the same with Mass Effect's Citadel DLC. I believe it was Sam Hulick who tweeted that one of the tracks he composed for it would make you emotional or some such. I really dislike it. Just let the emotions come to me naturally

 

(Disclaimer: I know it's just people writing personal stuff on their twitter about work they're proud of and that this is "my problem". I'm not trying to tell them what they can or can't do, just felt like getting it off my chest )

Y'know, someone doesn't have to DIE to make the DLC sad. The teary part could be as simple as a final farewell, where the Inquisition is disbanded and everyone goes their separate ways. I know that would tug at my heartstrings.

So can we assume Inquisition won't ever have a way to spend the 300+ power points you can accumulate now? I'm thrilled about the wardrobe and golden nug but I was crossing my fingers for a "power shop" or something that would make use of all these extra points. And since the DLC is 2 years later and won't be taking place at skyhold, that means we can't count on this DLC to implement it either.

They mentioned really looking into new power sinks a few times, but so far nothing's come of it.

It's possible there's something in the DLC (and we still haven't heard anything about this "challenging new optional gameplay mode", which may or may not still be a thing), but for right now, it looks like we're stuck with the excess. (And the golden nug kind of obviates a power shop, since all those schematics just carry over anyway.)

Yeah, this is what I think (and hope!) the devs are talking about when they say it's going to be emotional. Sure, somebody might die, but I think it's going to be up to the player, just like it has been in Dragon Age so far.

I have heard people start to say "Trespasser sounds like Awakening." Just be aware, they are -not- the same size. Trespasser is a DLC.
