You begin in the Nutcracker outfit, but you can change your wardrobe afterward. "You will begin in the red, but there is a wardrobe available in the Winter Palace if you want to switch up."

To put it in technical terms, he means that s**t would have been f**ked up if they used anything but a static outfit.

Take every new addition as something that could improve future games. Sense, for example, the wardrobe has already been implemented in Frostbite, it's menu type/function can appear again with a lot less effort.

Well, it's possible, but given the fact that I once got put into my armour instead just because I skipped lines really quickly (and the fact that you can destroy it and wear PJs) leads me to doubt exactly how hard it would be to change. Especially colour.

Nah, they'd just have to do something special for it, since that was handled by actual armor (not whatever fakery leads to the casual outfit being displayed instead of equipped armor at Skyhold).

Mike's explanation is basically "not worth it".

If I recall correctly, one starts in that outfit, but will be able to change it later in the Winter Palace. The Golden Nug and Wardrobe seem to be accessible from there, too.

Well, that's a bit disappointing. I wanted to enter in armour like this unused piece of concept art.

Random trivia: Anyone know who the robed figure in front of the building is? Looks like a mage. And I wish those Inquisition shield made it into the game. Everyone having lame wooden ones was lame.

 

At least I can after, though that could be after the entire court proceeding, who knows

Aside from photoshoot, I wish this concept art would have revived for Trepasser. I know that art was for Wicked Grace but didn't end up exactly like this.
