It's possible that Patrick is just being 10-15% more liberal in his phrasing than Mike and Mark are willing to be.
We'll probably be reading this kind of phrasing from them for at least another year, really.
I take comfort in the fact that since Mike, Mark, and Patrick are three people who are core Dragon Age, they never shift their focus like, say, some of the other writers or designers.
So when they "have things to do" at work, I can rest assured that those things have to do with my beloved Dragon Age and the future of the franchise, regardless if they can say it or not. I know .

Yeah, I don't expect them to actually tell us 'we are working on a vertical slice of DA4!', but let's be real here: they're working on a vertical slice of DA4. It was the same between DA2 and the announcement of DAI. It was obvious that BioWare was not paying the devs still on the DA team to sit around drinking coffee and making increasingly elaborate paper planes, but they couldn't talk about what they were doing. I expect that DA4 is pretty far off and we might see the Super Sekrit New IP first, but there is another thing in the works.

Patrick Weekes@PatrickWeekes: @user Ooh, good question. Maybe @BioMaryKirby will give her take. She's been on elves longer than I have.
@user: @PatrickWeekes @BioMaryKirby Oooh okay, thank you for the response!! =)
Mary Kirby@BioMaryKirby: @PatrickWeekes @user Not necessarily. Clans are named for nobles from the Dales. (1)
Mary Kirby@BioMaryKirby: @PatrickWeekes @user Not everyone in the clan is a descendant of the clan's founder. They trade people a lot. (2)
@user: @BioMaryKirby ThankYou! So Talas&Istimaethoriel were Dale nobles and they're clans Marethari&Deshanna were traded from?
Mary Kirby@BioMaryKirby: @user Again, not necessarily. One founding noble (Sabrae) could start a clan with a few emerald knights (Mahariel, Talas) (1)
Mary Kirby@BioMaryKirby: @user Every Dalish name preserves a lineage from someone, but not all of them founded clans.
@user: @BioMaryKirby I see! Thanks so much for taking the time to explain to me.

I'm having a hard time making peace with Trespasser, was hoping they keep working a little longer on DA:I before they move on to other things ![]()

Ten months is what should have been expected for DAI's post-release DLC schedule, I think. It's what the more successful ones have typically gone for over the past several years.

Would have liked an expansion though to end The Inquisitor's story.

End of the DLC's perhaps, but there has been a mention of further patching (eg; Lunge & Slash upgrade bug), so I hold on to hope for possible content along with the finishing tasks.

I wouldn't mind them coming out with an extended version of Trespasser or DA:I as well.

Extended DAI? I think DAI was already extended enough, 100+hrs of meaningless side quests was far more extension than necessary.

Lore Q: Marethari Talas & Deshanna Istimaethoriel. 2 names? Would their full name still have clan name attached?
