They could be an acquired taste. But the Mass Effect ones, for the most part, were not terrible, and this one seems to have some proper comic-book pedigree behind it, so meh, what the heck, may as well give it a shot, right? Although shipping is going to make my wallet cry.

Yeah. I've survived (and even, at times, really, really enjoyed) some of the Mass Effect comics. The Dragon Age ones, too. And the KOTOR tie-in comics, and the new Star Wars comics, and then... The Watchmen and... yeah, that's it. I'm such a comics newb.

What country do you live in, that makes it so difficult to get things shipped, if you don't mind my asking? Kinda curious now.

I hope Bioware never does a collab with telltale. Their games are seriously overrated, and I can't even stand the thought of Mass Effect or Dragon Age being reduced to "stylized" (aka easy to develop) graphics.

Isn't that essentially what we got in DA2? In hhe menu and UI system at least.

I guess Amazon is the best place to buy books and comics. They send almost anything to any place, right? And it's shipping is cheaper than most stores I know. Things From Another World is good too. The main problem here is the custom house (sorry, don't know if this is the most appropriate term), things vanish very easily there. This week my father just got delivered some things he bought back in 2013, haha. He didn't even remember about that.

True. But lets make sure that is the extent of it going forward.

Three years ago today... B)

http://blog.bioware....ii-inquisition/

Hrungr. I should not have read this article this early in the morning.

I saw "I am pleased to confirm that we are, in fact, working on the next Dragon Age game. Not a big surprise to most of you, I know. We have been working on it in some way for about two years now with the bulk of our efforts ramping up about 18 months ago" and started screaming. Then I saw that this was about Inquisition....

@ BioFan - you poor, poor soul. Also that made me laugh more than it should. I am a horrible person, I know.

@ Avejajed - was there really such short amount of time between the two? But DA2 was AGES ago, I was still in college then and...and...great. Now I feel old.

I'll tell you guys what I told the poor Solas thread. :)

No, this is good news! In Mark Darrah's original post on Sept. 17, 2012, they talk about how Inquisition has already been in development for two years- and they "ramped up" production 18 months ago. Which means they started working on it pretty tightly in March, 2011. Dragon Age 2 was released March 8, 2011.  :D

It was also accidentally informally announced in May, 2011, on Twitter.

They do seem to be spending a lot of time on PowerPoint, flying around together and not talking about what they're doing. Could be something else, but (given that green light-bearing wearers of suits probably like listening to powerpoints and are HQ'd somewhere other than Edmonton) can't be a bad sign!

On the one hand, I would say that the flying around is due to the various cons and public appearances that had been going on recently. On the other hand, if there is someone who loves themselves being relayed information in the form of a quick and easy to digest power point, it is the Besuited Ones.

Interesting point.

I, too, have considered long and considered hard the relevance of said PowerPoint extravaganzas.

Just one word of caution, though: don't get 100% wrapped up in development timetables for past entries. No two projects are ever the same. After ME3 shipped, I recall some were convinced we'd be seeing a fourth title "by late 2014 at absolute latest, I mean, come on," based on preexisting conditions. Stuff changes... stuff's always changin'. Embrace some hype, but just always be aware, any fun calculations on our part could be totally off the handle. I have seen this break some folks before.

And now back to your regularly-scheduled BSN hype-o-meter. :)

I don't think that's going to happen. The most likely event in that approximate time window would be E3 which I'm guessing will be all about ME:A and I don't think anyone would be mad enough to rain on THAT particular parade. Given that the Trespasser JUST came out (and still causes my console to need to take a personal moment on occasion, ie it needs fixing) my guess for the earliest official announcement is Q2 2017. If we get anything next year, it will most likely be "it exists. Kthxbai" that doesn't necessarily preclude preliminary work being done as we speak, though. Power points and all ;-)

Dragon Age: Inquisition Multiplayer Weekend Event (September 18 – 21)

http://www.dragonage...nt-September-18

MPWC20_23article-header.jpg

Mission: Safety First (September 18 – 21)

To All Inquisition Soldiers and Agents,

Our Orlesian and Fereldan allies have encountered fierce attacks led by some of Corypheus's most skilled commanders. We must lend them aid not only to uphold these alliances, but because eliminating their leaders may turn the tide of this battle in the Inquisition's favor. It will be a deed that few will ever forget.

Cordially,

Ambassador Montilyet

In a different hand:

This is the fight we were warned about. After the last few weeks’ training, we're as ready and fit as we've ever been. Corypheus's lackeys will be sorry they laid eyes on you.

—Commander Cullen

Agent Goal: Kill 10 Commanders.

Inquisition Goal:

PC/PS4/Xbox One: Kill 50,000 Commanders

PS3/X360: Kill 15,000 Commanders

Agent Completion: Agent awarded a Commendation Chest.

Inquisition Completion: All agents awarded a Victory Chest.

This weekend’s event begins at 10 am PDT Friday, September 18, and ends at 5 am PDT Monday, September 21.

Good luck!
