That article is a bit troubling. The way he talks about PC in the same sentence as having the Xbox 360 and PS3 version.
I don't want DAI to be held back on PC just because of these 9 year old consoles.
I want the PC version to be on par(or better!) than the PS4 and Xbox One versions.
I just have this bad feeling that if the current and next gen versions of DAI are really that different, us PC users will end up getting the crappy current gen version.
Keep in mind that Gibeau is an EA corporate suit.

Also remember that the first salvo in the console wars has been fired. Both Microsoft and Sony will be promoting the hell out their products from now until release day.
So I wouldn't worry about being a PC gamer during this bout of "why-don't-you-guys-just-whip-it-out-and-get-a-ruler?" Pop some popcorn and pull up a comfy chair. This is gonna get good.

Yeah, and I suppose the publisher executives do feel oblgated to promote next-gen consoles in every interview and using every opportunity they get, given the significant investments they've made in games for the new systems.
By the way, Cameron Lee did say the PC version of DAI would allow you to push a high-end system (I think he phrased it like "melt your PC") if you have the capacity to do so, I really doubt they'd exclude the option to take advantage of better specs when that capability is already being built for the next-gen consoles.

They'll make us visit it again in DAI just to SPITE those of us who can't fathom to trudge along its streets again.

Unlike DA2 where Hawke was fighting the Arishock, I'm now free to imagine my character. We have a blank canvas to build our own hero with no preconception's.
I'm liking DA3 already!

I think it would be a bad thing for bioware to exlcude PC in next gen status cause of the number of people who actually play these games and others on pc is large. As for EA, their are and will always be full of crap, A PC with a 4770k, 780gtx, and 16 gbs would blow the new consoles away if set up right. They say this cause they make majority of their money on console sales when it comes to sports. BF3 was made for PC to say hey look what we can do, its time to upgrade these consoles.Brockololly wrote...

Especially in light of EA spouting BS with not bringing their nextgen engine for FIFA to the PC, claiming PC's couldn't handle it.
I'd like to think BioWare would be better than that and they'd put the necessary time and effort into the PC version but who knows at this point.

Have to say, from the trailer of DA3, they made the right call not showing the player protagonist.

To me it's pretty clear that their goal with DA2 was to imitate Mass Effect in a fantasy setting so having a heavily pre-determined character was part of their strategy.

I think everyone is reading way too much into that statement. I think what he meant was "last game we put on PS3, 360, and PC, now this game we also get XBone and PS4". And not that somehow the PC version was going to be like the last-gen console versions.
No wonder the devs don't like to say anything, when everybody immediately interprets it in the worst possible way...
I pretty much took that statement like this, as well, but, to borrow a line from Garrus: "Expect the worst and you won't be disappointed."

Wow. Whut. I'd be shocked if MP didn't make it into the game. I wouldn't mind ofc but I really thought it was gonna be a staple in Bioware games from now on.

I think the aim was having some sort of online interactivity in every game, not necessarily multiplayer - for DAI that could be a social site where you can share world states or something, like Origins and DA2 had.
Wanting to make the singleplayer side as good as possible could be a response to the popularity of something like Skyrim, which attracted a pretty huge audience purely by being a very strong and expansive singleplayer experience.
That said, I'm also a little surprised that some kind of MP isn't being considered or worked on, given how well-received (and profitable?) ME's turned out to be. Will wait and see.

And it also needs to be said that the Frostbite engine is incredibly scaleable, like Unreal. It can work effecently on large range of Hardware. There being an Xbox 360 and PS3 version should in no way undermine the quality if the Frosbite version.

I believe that you will be able to import your saves. It was said there was an issue with importing because of the changeover in game engines However, the devs did say they were 'working on it' in the Pax East discussion (the link of which is below. Check around the 5-minute mark).
That being said, it's been also mentioned that the designers also want the game to stand on its own. So if the player has not played DA:O/A or DA2 (or chooses to import some or none of their previous games' saves) they can do that as well.
Here's the link:
Hope this helps!
