Final Poll Results:

Well that escalated. 12,000 responses!
^ Thanks!
Hm... I'm wondering if he hindered the result by adding the "only on pc" and "only mobile/handheld" options. (Not that I'm complaining.)

Well, I guess it's all in how you look at it. If it came out on every platform - that's 78% Yes...

That's fantastic.

Will Dragon Age move on to the next Age soon? I love DA universe therefore I'd really like to see it evolves to the next Age.
we're still pretty early in the age
Dragon Age Tactics has taken over my Twitter mentions. I have important Canadian Marvel based statue projects to discuss people!
(Edmonton has been trying for a 1000 foot tall Wolverine statue)
I don't know exactly what a "tactics" game is meant to be (like a turn-based fighting game?) but haven't they got something really similar with Heroes of Dragon Age?

Mark mentioned games like XCom & Fire Emblem as their inspiration here. And if you watch gameplay videos of those, you'll see they're a bit of a different animal from HoDA.

...I say go for it!

Ah right. I would totally play a Dragon Age version of XCOM ![]()

They can do plenty more games in the 66ish years left in the age. There was a plan for 5 games, though by now there may be an extended plan, we'll just have to see. I wouldn't worry until (theoretically) a 5th game comes out.

Dragon Age Legends is actually closer to that (though it didn't have nearly enough effort put into it to be memorable or considered a proper game in the series). It was turn based ('tactical') and you had a base you could upgrade.

It was enjoyable when I had DA withdrawals during DAI's development.

I have it and play it from time to time too
. But it's pretty clear that the focus and effort was put on Bioware's other projects.
On the topic of a Dragon Age Tactical RPG: has nobody here has ever played a Fire Emblem? Tactics Ogre? Final Fantasy Tactics? X-Com? Radiant Historia? Disgaea? Langrisser? Shining Force? Fallout Tactics? Super Robot Wars? Bahamut Lagoon? Front Mission? Sakura Wars?
There are so many great tactical RPGs across almost every generation of gaming consoles. If anybody who is a fan of Dragon Age games and voted "No" in the poll, having never played a tactical RPG before, I definitely recommend giving one a try. Fire Emblem: Awakening, due to it being pretty casual in difficulty, would be a good one to try out.
Tactical RPGs are all about positioning, battlefield control, matching unit strengths against weaknesses, building the right team, and getting them the right equipment.
If that sounds familiar, it's because that's exactly what the other Dragon Age games are always trying to simulate in a real-time setting. But they don't go a mile-a-minute like Inquisition, they go turn by turn and give you time to think and analyze the situation: and demand that of you to succeed.
It's pretty much the perfect second genre for the Dragon Age series to expand into. I couldn't think of anything more fitting, other than skewing to the other side of the Dragon Age mix: Visual Novel or Point-and-Click Adventure Game.
I played Fire Emblem, and if a DA spin-off was done in that style I'd definitely play that in a heartbeat. It would help tide my DA craving over til the next series' instalment.
Haven't seen them sharing my drawing! =O
And I hope we get the Dragon Age Tactics. Love these games, even the most hardcore like Rondo of Swords (for me it was the best NDS game ever).

Perhaps those of us who voted "No" already know what a tactical RPG is without having played one and have no interest in it. I like my real-time combat, and the combat in DAI was perfect for me. The only thing I would have done differently was to bring back the more involved AI tactics of DA2 (there were some options DAO did not have), with its many options, since I did like customizing that for various characters. I've played turn based games before and find them annoying.
I play Dragon Age for the story and role-play aspects. I do NOT say that combat should be eliminated, since I do like killing things, and I like combat just fine, but that is not why I play Dragon Age.
