Damn, it looks like the Arishonk is going to win. I thought, my Solas bias aside, that the Solegg tee looked quite artistic. Almost like a surrealist Magritte type piece.

Not saying it's definitely DA-related, but... it does look like Vivienne. Also note: the giant moon, the connect-the-dots stars... and a glow-y orb.

And if it is DA-related, note the "Pirate" tag.

 

And even if it isn't, it never hurts to keep an eye on BioWare's concept artists. IIRC, they did post the odd concept art before DAI's announcement.

And if it is DA-related, note the "Pirate" tag.

Still so much fun to investigate and speculate. Besides, its beautiful work.

But so far the only visual clue we have for the new IP is that solar-panel covered trailer/lab from the old E3 video. Now, if that wasn't just BioWare trolling us , then the new IP is set in the modern day/near future and more likely sci-fi than fantasy.

Also, the lady in the pic has a gem thingy on her forehead, just like Viv in Trespasser.

The decor and architecture look more Arabian to me personally. Her dark complexion and heavy jewelry could suggest she's Ravaini? (if this is indeed DA). Tho didn't one of the devs say Vivienne had a Rivaini heritage? I doubt she'd be embracing that though, she's VERY Orlesian. 

And they guy in the picture appears pirate-ish, and pirates are a thing in Rivain according to Isabela. The country is also predominately matriarchal, so if she's royalty that would make sense for the setting.

I don't think it's anything work-related. Matt does publish some of his personal works on his websites/blogs among those he does for work.

It doesn't feel dragonagy to me .Maybe that weird island covered in magical fog where everyone is wearing bling , I've read about in WOT2 but that's streching it.

That does remind me of Viv, but that moon looks like it has an atmosphere, which I don't believe either of Thedas' moons (assuming the small one still exists >_>) have? At least those whorls look like clouds to me. Of course this is concept art, so.

Yeah, Vivienne is Rivaini (her parents were merchants). If this is Rivain, she could be there for political reasons (as GE or Divine) as well... "When in Rome..."

Oh, it certainly could/likely be. But there's just enough DA cues that it makes me wonder...

The Aladdin looking character seems to be hiding a potion of some kind, maybe this is an assassination attempt - or maybe it will be successful. Wouldn't that be strange / interesting if DA4 started with the assassinations of some major characters. Hmm...interesting.

Rivain would be ideal if the Qunari are involved since that is where Llomerryn is located. This is so exciting!

He also posted this on tumblr a while back. In addition to the moon thing that has already been pointed out (either they're looking at a moon with an atmosphere, or they're on a moon looking down at its planet, either of which would be a major change for DA, and he's mentioned that he's not on the secret IP), the "my old motifs" caption made me think it was something totally from his own imagination rather than for a BioWare IP.
