They are so going to announce DA4 at EA Play.

Announce, perhaps....concept art is a huge maybe....but nothing more.
Too early in development methinks.
But I think it's high time the Secret IP had a teaser trailer.

((((Fingers crossed))))

You can't even imagine how much I want this (it's almost as much as I want to see more of MEA, which is a lot).
Personally, I think we're still a long ways away from an announcement, but... What if...?

I would get heart attack if this happened.
Totally worth it.Cori Nicole May @genevrael
The last time I was at work this early was to listen to @Pancheers do romance VO for DAI. #sleepless
My guess is this is Andromeda stuff. I think that game's at a point where they'd be more likely to be doing crunch edits.
One thing I hope they do before the release of the next game is reveal all the DAI Easter Eggs/Hidden Areas the fans haven't found yet. I found the Secret Chateau in Trespasser, but I'm all but certain there is something hidden in the Temple of Mythal (invisible tiles) and possibly more...

Who's Mythal?
I don't think there'll be an announcement at EA Play. Way too much other stuff for the company (let alone Bioware!) to show off in the years before the next DA. They have two big projects (Battlefield 1 and Titanfall 2) coming out this year, Mirror's Edge to talk up, and ME Andromeda to show off for Feb/March 2017. Even for Bioware, their new IP will surely take precedence over DA4 because it's way further in development.
Not meaning to rain on the hype parade or anything, but it's not fun when you're earnestly expecting something to happen only to be disappointed when it doesn't. I know that from the last four N7 days and three Mass Effect presentations (that's a generous term) at E3.
The good news is that the DA devs seem way more relaxed (compared to Mass Effect) about hinting at things and giving tiny status updates/reveals on Twitter and at conventions, so I would expect them to maybe vaguely talk about the next game during Dragon Age panels some time.
Something smells swimming indeed.

Always slightly odd to see a quote from a character I wrote that is something I think of only me saying.

Turns out @mel_f_lem and I will be giving a talk on Dragon Age’s IP as handled outside the games at PAX Dev in Seattle this year. Excited!
^ OH I hope that's recorded somewhere!
And uh... which dev is mel_f_lem?

It's like DG never left... Hang on could Beamdog be working on the DA tactics game?
A little like say Telltale doing their Borderlands and Minecraft games for example?
^ Eh, I doubt it. One of the reasons he left is so he could work on something fresh. His mind was focused on DA for like 10+ years.

It would have been a totally brilliant ninja move if DG had moved over to Beamdog to head up a DA Tactics game there! ![]()
But does anyone at Beamdog have any experience developing strategy games...? EA used to have a strategy game arm called Victory Games who was set to do a revamped Command & Conquer before EA shut it down. Actually, it was at one point briefly under the BioWare label (BioWare Victory). I suspect EA would most likely handle the development internally (if they could) or have another company who has strategy game experience handle it (eg. Firaxis, etc.).

Yeah I'll admit those thoughts crossed my mind as well especially on the experience of BD to do a tactical game and granted it's 100% speculation, but I can see a certain logic to it. BD aren't interested in creating their own IP... or so they've said.
Could give BD a leg up working with a developer like BW, as well as free up BW resources to focus on the AAA style games they're doing now.
Time will tell one way or another.

Actually, they have recently mentioned they are working on both licensed properties as well as their own original IP... But as you say, time will tell.
