"EA France was founded in Lyon in 1993. EA Publishing is made up of teams in charge of distribution of video games in the French market (including sales and marketing), as well as corporate functions, such as Finance, HR, Legal, Facilities and IT." (http://careers.ea.co...lyon-ea-france)
So, corporate stuff, maybe?
Aaah, now I understand why there was a dialogue about Lyon being a nice city in France in the refugees zone of the Citadel in ME3!
I live 30 minutes from Lyon... Wish I knew where Mike is exactly, just to stalk him a little, abduct him and torture him until we got news about DA4 and the secret IP... :-P

Interestingly, one of the Frostbite Devs is in France too...
Ah. That might be a good reason, too. Maybe coordinating on the engine and its use in RPGs still. Can always improve upon what they worked out in Inquisition.

But still, pretty interesting... ![]()
Hopefully we'll find another tidbit or two to give this trip some more context. With the Frostbite Dev in France as well (and the pic of the castle), I'm guessing they might be scouting locations. The lunch with Cassandra I'm assuming is something he's did while he happened to be in England and not the purpose of the trip.

Very interesting presentation. The only thing I found a bit worrying was when Weekes was discussing the Exalted Council. In a nutshell he basically said that the dead Quanari was the excuse to get the player out of the Exalted Council and into combat because the politicians lecturing you is "boring, boring, boring." I wouldn't go so far as to say that the Exalted Council bits were boring, but I think this explains why the political aspect of Trespasser was incredibly underdeveloped. (And frankly it's a bit patronizing to players and doesn't give enough credits to the ability of Weekes and the other writers to write a compelling, entertaining story that's as good as the combat. I got the impression that they didn't go into much depth at the Exalted Council or create an advanced, in-depth experience similar to the Landsmeet because they though it would bore players who they view as really only interested in combat. Kind of frustrating and makes me worry that we'll never get anything at the same level (or better) as the Landsmeet in DA:O in terms of politicking, especially since we're likely going to Tevinter in DA4. (Not to bash Weekes or anyone at Bioware -- Trespasser was the best DA DLC to date and an amazing piece of work -- it's just that the Exalted Council was lacking and the presentation seems to confirm that this was intentional under development in favor of combat.)

Yep, Solas does mention his elven spy in his speech at the end. He tells you that the agent who showed you the dead Qunari and discovered the servant with explosives was his agent.

Yea, Solas tells the Inquisitor this during their convo:
"The elven guard that lead you to the Qunari body, who intercepted the servant with the gaatlock barrel? mine."

That's also the presentation where they go into how they originally had more of a dialogue tree after you get back from losing your arm instead of just the one final choice, right? They said they cut it down from the 2+ wheel scenario to just that singular wheel b/c play testers found the 2+ wheel setup "flat" or something.
Maybe the play testers in question for this DLC had short attention spans? Or perhaps they had not completed the base game of Inquisition in a while (if at all. I have no clue what the reqs are for these play testers in the first place.) and were just not as interested in the story as they would have maybe been otherwise? I don't necessarily have a problem with the singular dialogue choice in the final scene. It works in and of itself. Its just an abrupt scene.
These testers could have at least recommended tossing in a scene with the Inquisitor waking up to find their arm gone or something in place of the more lengthy Council dialogue, though. >_>
