GDC 2016: Dragon Age Inquisition: Trespasser - Building to an Emotional Theme
<<<<<<<<<<(0)>>>>>>>>>>
Interesting and revealing.
1. How marketing description of a game and actual game play differ in the sense that the game play fails to live up to the description.
a- You start by forming the Inquisition. An organization devoted to restore order in a world that is under threat and in chaos (2:12).
b- You prove yourself and become leader of the Inquisition. The mark (power to banish demons) helped (2:20)
c- End of Inquisition you became a major Power but Bio left you dangling with one big plot thread... Solace a possible Elvin god.
d- Trespasser DLC wraps up the Inquisitor story.
On revelation
Thank you, Bio, for admitting that the game I bought was purposely incomplete. Also, thank you for giving me the opportunity to spend more money to finally finish the game with proper closure.
On interesting
I don't know about you guys, but the description vs how the game mechanics developed the Quizzy and the Inqui to become a major power is rather superficial. I mean, the Quizzy + 3 companions "saves the world". The army, economy and the Intelligence / assasination network were rather thin, don't you all agree?... if you think about it.... as in "where's the beef?". Did you really feel the world was under threat or in chaos? OR was this just in a few areas?
On ME:A
All the above rantings, simply to say, I will be unsurprised if this also occurs with ME:A. Bio will sell an incomplete game with DLCs to properly finish it.. at an additional price = game + DLC = complete game = game $ + DLC $ = expensive game indeed.
