I've been reading some of the media articles and I wish I'd worded the village bit differently - itcould be interpreted from what I wrote that the village is destroyed either way (if the Inquisitor does something or if they don't), when what Cameron actually said was that it's destroyed based on something the Inquisitor did or didn't do - he wasn't getting into specifics, so we don't know exactly how the protagonist's decision influenced that outcome.

I've seen some comments where people assumed the village is destroyed no matter what the Inquisitor does, which isn't what I meant (and isn't what was said at the panel).

Edit: no news on the footage, I can try asking the Gamespot AU staff for an ETA.

They're probably traveling home etc, but dunno.

Yeah. I honestly thought that, from what they said at the panel, the village outcome was not inevitable. One possible outcome.

The note I took was "varric burn village one consequence" :)

also, on that new enemy they showed - from the trailer - I wrote, "big mouth hard to fight sinks into ground shoot black stuff"

i think that was something Cameron said.

edit: btw, I'm not sure it is varric who burns village. I probably put his name for reference.

Yeah, Cameron said the village Varric was in was destroyed because of a choice the player made. It's not inevitable, and making another decision could've led to a different outcome.

(For all we know, it's likely it was destroyed before Varric got there)

That big mouth hard to fight sinks into ground thing was called the Nightmare, if I remember correctly.

There was also a fear demon (?) and a rock-crystal-monster thing in the trailer.

I think that rock thing looks just like the ancient rock wraith in DA2, only not dead.

No need for you to go out of your way on my account; I was merely curious if anybody knew anything about it popping up somewhere. The fact that you covered it with such detail and dedication is amazing. Thank you, sir, for bringing this news.

I would wonder why Varric is intimately involved with the player's decisions, unless he's a companion... again.

RE qunari: Whether they are redesigned or not doesn't bother me too much. However, if we do see groups of qunari, I really hope they aren't all clones, as in DA2. In fact, the only unique looking (racial) qunari in the whole of DA2 were the Arishok and Salit. Even then though, armor and voice acting helped tremendously. Most qunari have the exact same face, which is jarring after a while. I understand the necessity for reusing models, but it would be nice to have a few difference faces floating around, particularly with NPCs we have conversations with.

From the way you wrote it I interpreted it to be a similar situation to making the choice to abandon Redlciffe in DAO. If you do that Redcliffe is destroyed when you return.

It sounds awesome to me, and I'm looking forward to such choices. My only concern with revealing stuff like this before release is that when we are finally presented with said choice in the game that the possible outcome is not obvious because of developer tid bits like this. On the other hand, I might just forget that I even read about it by next fall.

RE Qunari clones: I saw DA2 cloned Qunari as if they were being seen through Hawkes eyes. A LOT of people when dealing with a race/ethnicity/what-have-you they are not used to think they all look alike. For example many people (still) think all Asians look alike, all small eyed, with black hair. Many people think Hispanics or those of African decent look alike. There are lots of examples in real life as well as media where, for example, someone witnessed something and described a person as THIS color skin, and THIS color hair. When confronted with people who match the description they all look alike to the person. Am I making sense (probably not, LOL)?

I had a class that focused on stuff like this but it was a while ago and I'm not digging notebooks out of storage on a hot day.

There was a concept art in that famous leak from months ago, he was huge, even for Qunari standards.

There was no artwork of Iron Bull or any other Qunari/kossith in the leak.

No idea, I just posted the tweet as-is. From the looks of the rest of the table, I would say that it was either convention-exclusive merch, or a preview of something that will eventually be in the online store. I'm really hoping it's the latter. Those mabari, complete with kaddis, are too damn cute.

Someone claimed in another thread that Bioware would have an announcement today. I thought he might be lying but the day isn't over yet.

Maybe Qunari have different types of horns, just like humans have different types of hair. We'll have to wait to find out though.

That would be interesting. In Star Trek they have klingons with different cranial ridge patterns.
