Have you guys seen this? I know Wiki can't be entirely trusted, but I totally wouldn't complain if he was voicing the Inquisitor:

(Scroll down).
David Gaider actually debunked this on Tumblr.

I'm surpised he posted. I guess he checks out the Dragon Age tags from time to time

Makes me curious who WILL be voicing the role, then. It's something I hadn't really considered until just now.

I think maybe they chose her DA2 in-game look over concept art because they might have known the engine wouldn't do the concept art designs justice. The concept art of Flemeth on the right side has quite a bit of texture and i feel the DA2's engine wouldn't display those textures well. So far Frostbite 3 looks like it can handle textures pretty well so maybe well see better character designs that are close to concept art.Fast Jimmy wrote...

I didn't want to make a topic just for this fun tidbit, so I'm going to post it here. There is some GREAT stuff there, including a bunch of different concepts of Fenris (what his [chest/back] markings look like underneath!), some interesting DAO-to-DA2 armor modifications, environments, darkspawn changes, and more. From a Polygon article...
BioWare concept artist Matt Rhodes has "pulled his pants down" in an artistic sense, as he says in his latest blog post, by sharing a handful of early and unused concept art for the Mass Effect and Dragon Age series.
Regarding the darkspawn specifically, I really like the reasoning he posts there, and I think it makes a lot of sense. I think the idea comes across in the concept art, but not in the final in-game version, which looks more skeleton-ish. Also, I always thought that their armor in DAO looked too sophisticated and was pleased with the changes to that in DA2; it helped to give the 'spawn a more unique look and reminded me of the crude forging we see from the orcs and such in the Lord of the Rings films.
Best phrase in the whole thing: "Biker Mage." Lol XD.

MY GOD. Why did they not go with this Flemeth model over the senior citizen BDSM look we wound up with in DA2? Good Lord, that was so terrible it was disgusting. This made her more menacing than in DA:O, but still grounded in reality, instead of her (timeline wise) dressing up in a Halloween costume to save Hawke and then going back to her matronly rags to (possibly) fight and be killed by the Warden.

I thought DA2 Flemeth was because Cassandra/Varric was just visualizing her that way (since neither of them had actually seen her) rather than that's what she legitimately looked like?

IIRC, Varric could have actually seen her, when you bring back the amulet to Sundermount.
My guess is, they'll keep DA2 Flemeth. That appearance is pretty iconic, with the horns and all.

I think over the last couple of years, many people here have used that word so often and so broadly that they no longer remember what it actually means.
News flash: Just because you put horns on something, or make it nausiating to look at in the name of uniqueness, does not mean it's Iconic.
As it stands, Flemeth does not have an iconic look. You can thank Bioware for that. They've drastically redefined her appearance from the first game to the second, effectively eliminating any "constant" for us to assign to her. I suppose the only thing "iconic" about Flemeth is her voice, since it's the one thing thats been the same since the start and is unique to her at the same time. To the point where if you hear her voice actor doing any other voice-over role, the first thing that pops into your head is: "Hey! that's Flemeth!"

Now to be true, neither Flemeth versions looked particularly iconic. But from a cosplay perspective, playing a white-haired Dominatrix with added spikiness is, however, more appealing than an old woman in nondescript sackcloth clothes.
Then again, apart from Morrigan Flemeth's other daughter Yavana apparently dresses like this

'is that a codpiece in your pants, or are you just happy to see me, serrah?'
So I guess it's 'in the family', so to speak. They probably order their clothes from the same LARP Internet store:blink:.
Maybe Flemeth even hands over her old outfits to her daughters? 'Waste not, want not'.
(Yavanna, by the way, is the name of one of Tolkien's Valar, but I think nobody is going to confuse DA's Yavana with a character from Tolkien's Middle Earth

Indeed. He could have seen her on Sundermount. Hawke also could have told Varric how she looks like. Varric knows his story as well.
Anyway, that art of Flemeth looks horrible to me. I like Flemeth from DA2. Maybe her look isn't 'iconic', but ceraintly it is awesome.

Personally, I'm hoping she has a totally new look in the next game, as it would make sense if she did.

This.
Flemeth's appearance in each game should be dependent on how she wishes to present herself. In Origins, she wanted to look like an eccentric and (on the surface) essentially harmless hermit, yet her DA II appearance was all about projecting a sense of power and personality.
Given the themes and setting of Inquisition, I'd like to see her take on a look which suggests an almost aristocratic air of authority and faded (fading?) elegance and splendour. Somewhat like Granny Rags from Dishonored, but less decrepit.

Her DA2 appearance was all about showing the impression of a sexy badass character as envisaged by a male teenager with pimples (or how certain writers think they imagine them). I had strong déja-vu feelings back to the day I had pimples myself and thought Chris Achilleos fantasy heroines looked cool.
That was long ago, sometime during the Mesozoicum I think, in the days of dragonlance or even before...

(Ah, Dragonlance. How I do not miss thee. A recent (2008) cover showing Takhisis, 'Dragonqueen, She of Many Faces, Queen of Many Colors and None' etc. etc.)
I do fear that a 'renewed makeover' isn't too likely. Quite a few people liked the sexy generification of Flemeth, and I don't think most players take too well to constant changes (I would in this case), even if the character is a Shapeshifter.

I personally think that the Dragon Age 2 change in Flemeth's physical appearance was in fact meant to establish that as her "iconic" look; and I for one hope that's actually he case. I liked it!
Think of it this way, based on the statements that her character has made about change coming to the world of Thedas, perhaps she is merely emerging from one mode even as she prepares to face imminent events or to better involve herself in what does unfold?

Such is the risk of hiring an expensive, well-known voice actor
I had that with Claudia Black as well (great fan of her as Aeryn Sun). Some actors have very typical ways of talking and very distinctive voices, which make them instantly recognisable. Wasn't a great fan of Patrick Stewart in Oblivion either (then again, Max von Sydow, a Swede, in Skyrim was great)
That's why I prefer good, but relatively unknown or 'neutral-sounding' voice actors in videogames. No matter how the character looks or how well he / she has been designed, you KNOW how the actor looks and this, I don't know, leads to some sort of cognitive dissonance.
