I know it's a woman, that's not what I'm saying at all.
My point is that she isn't *clearly* the inquisitor like most images of him/her we've seen. This just looks like a random dragon tamer to me.
I'm saying that they might have felt compelled to point out that it is a female protag and release that image to quell fans' disappointment with the marketing thus far.

Desert
The Inquisitor ignores all warnings and pursues his quarry into the deep desert.
Seems like a very bad idea to go trudging through a barren, scorching hot desert in heavy, metal armor.
If we're stuck with pre packaged looks for the companions or the PC, I'd like it if some of the preset outfits were weather appropriate gear- maybe some more fur cloaks for the snowy levels and some lighter looking gear for the scorching hot desert.

There are NO dragon tamers so I have a hard time thinking she's just a random one.

That image was originally posted well before the image of the black female Inquisitor and that whole discussion.

I have a version of this as one of my backgrounds. I love it, and that version of the female Inquisitor which Matt uses on occasion in the concepts is one of my favorites.
I did notice a few people suggesting the figure on the right is praying… when she is, in fact, bowing. Her left fist is in front of her right shoulder, kind of a salute-thing.
And replying to this:
CONFESSION: I loved Awakening Anders and that made it hurt all the more when I saw what they did with the character in DA2. Now I’m nervous that they’ll butcher Morrigan and Varric in DA3
With:
Well, if it’s any consolation, both Varric and Morrigan are being written in DAI by the same writers that created them: Varric by Mary Kirby and Morrigan by myself.
Of somewhat less consolation: I can assure you that the chances of us developing either character in no way— or Morrigan being the exact same character she was in DAO after a 10-year interim— is pretty much nil. While neither character has had anything as extreme happen to them as possession by a spirit of Justice, there is always the possibility someone won’t like where we take them.
To that I’m afraid I am perfectly prepared to say: “Oh well.” I am not inclined to leave any character inside a box, gathering nostalgia like so much dust, when there is something possibly interesting to do with them. Not Varric, not Morrigan, not Hawke, and not the Warden. I am Godzilla Writer rampaging mercilessly amongst your sacred fields.
Sorry about the cows.

Which is nice , but with Asunder it means that Hawke has an even lesser role in the Mage/templar war , weakening an already weak protagonist.
And now it's all I can do whatever I want with warden/Hawke.And I mean , of course he can do it...
But I'm really annoyed .I think it's awful in a rpg to be told , wake up the pc is not yours.
It annoys me so much that I want Hawke /the warden and the futur Inquisitor to be dead by the end of DA:I.

The comics were about a completely unrelated plot, which could even not exist if Alistair is dead.

I'm glad those two aspects will get a panel to themselves on August 30 though, since crafting and character/appearance customisation are the two areas I'm most interested in hearing about.

Sorry, I meant dragon hunter. As in Nevarran. Why would an inquisitor be recognisable by being a dragon tamer anyway?
@your second point, actually no, it wasn't released as an image. It appeared on the wall in one of the Gameinformer videos, but it was never released as a picture in its own right until now.

Couldn't agree more “@hanlsp: Seriously, if you’re going to PAX, don’t miss the big DAI panel at 1:00 on Saturday. http://blog.bioware....pax-prime-2013/ …”

Exactly like how all human architecture across the entire world and from every time period is exactly the same?
Even accounting for the fact that they're changing engines, it'd be more bizarre if every section of the Deep Roads looked alike - especially when they were once home to autonomous thaigs who existed or coexisted over a long time period.
