Or it's just the Riordan strategy.

a.k.a: "The dumbest idea I've seen in DAO... But also the most awesome"

Not really, he got Archdemon out of the sky and onto the ground where your Warden could finish him off.

The idea was that he slays the Archdemon, not us, going kamikaze towards a flying dragon is far from being a bright strategy when you need to be alive to give the final blow.

Riordan probably knew he was out of option and time.

Plus it was extremely obvious he wasn't going to be the one to do it.

Of course he wasn't! He had a big "Red Shirt" sign above his head all the time

That scene lighting is depressing. Dynamic lighting always ends up "close, but not quite"; hopefully it's just the horrible resolution on the video.

And I hope perspective is preventing the reflection of the dragon from showing, rather than the reflection not actually being there (though why the cinematic department would deliberately stage a reflective element without showing reflection is a bit mystifying).

The models and textures are great (though I'm not a fan of redesigning the dragons, and the nugs' people-hands should be accentuated more). The foliage isn't clear enough at that resolution, but the static shots we got of the scene looked really nice. Hopefully they add impact effects to sandy terrain (footprints and what not), so it doesn't look like a plastic imitation sand hill, and the dust plume when the dragon lands lakeside really needs some attention.

If you look really closely at full screen, you can see parts of the dragon's reflection in the water, so it's just a part of the fact that it looks like a low resolution camcorder recording of another screen, which always look way worse than the real thing.

On a side note, I, for one, really love the new dragon species design (since it's obviously not the same kind as in the previous games).

so Gaider just confirmed that raven/crow bird is just part of the concept artwork and not actually part of the game?

good.

This man. He has a darkness in his heart which not even Morgoth can claim to compare!

Tensions mount as the members of the Inquisition argue over who keeps leaving mugs of ale in the war room.

Looks like this concept art was modified a bit and these look like some of the possible companions we've been seeing?

That guy has a pretty magnificent 'stache.

Also, does the Inquisitor really need that many Inquisition logos on himself? :P

It's almost as bad as Cerberus!

That's what I've been saying, hah. Unless all those eyes shoot lazer beams, hopefully that's getting toned down a bit...

Am I totally wrong, or is that guy stabbing right into Kirkwall?

If so... I can understand why everyone is stunned, shocked and befuddled, as it would likely mirror the BSN's resposne.

"The last game spent 10 years there! We're going back?!"

Also, I hope that is not the Inquisitor. Gaudy ornaments aside, I really hate when they reveal a set protagonist in marketing.

Meh, the inquisitor has had roughly a gazillion manifestations in the concept art, all of which are different stand ins. I'm assuming that will translate into later, in game marketing materials, a la DA:O. DA 2 had the same figure for Hawke in every single marketing material but so far we thankfully haven't seen that with the inquistor.

The Inquisitor hasn't had the same outfit in more than 2 pieces of concept art so there's no reason to think this one is the marketing appearance.

Well, I'm against using ANY appearance in marketting materials, personally. I realize not everyone does that (and not even DA:O did that fully), but it is a personal preference. I liked how the Inquisitor was cloaked or otherwise obscured up until this point. I wish they would continue that.

No, Kirkwall is too far west, it looks like. That's in the middle of the sea north of Highever. Some kind of small island? Sunken ship? Sunken city? Nothing? I dunno.
