@devSin and @Filament
I mentioned elven mages because that was what I was talking about but since you two jumped the gun a bit, I'll indulge you:
I'm tired of elven mages...more specifically dalish/mage/former Firsts/exiles. The reason I'm not "tired" of circle mages is because each and every mage companion we had (with an exception of Merrill and Velanna) told us their perspective on the Circle and how it affects them. We also have, hm, a large quests detailing about mages plight in DA:O, an entire game that led to the Mage-Templar War (DAII), Asunder and now DA:I that deals with the whole Circle/Chantry issue, and despite my dislike of Anders in DAII, he did bring up interesting points about the Circle. Fenris, despite not being a mage, also comments about magic and its dangers (and he also talks about slavery in Tevinter Imperium quite a bit). In other words, something new keeps popping up that I didn't know. Having perspectives about the same topic is quite refreshing, no?
We've had two dalish/mage/former Firsts/exiles and we hardly know anything about the dalish through them. We get bits and pieces but nothing substantional. Most of the conversations they have is more personal with Velanna beating Merrill in terms of divulging dalish information. Most of Merrills came from codex extries (dalish mages dwindling, Merrill being given to another clan, ect).
I didn't get much perspectives out of them except that Velanna has a terrible temper, had a fight with her former Keeper and wants to find her sister while Merrill felt isolated because she wasn't good at talking with people (could've fooled me in DA:O). Merrill's quest was much more personal and the whole point was to bring a piece of history to her People but hardly anything else. The one piece of information I love from DAII was when Merrill mentioned that the reason the clan moves around was to protect the Keeper and the First from Templars (and that the dalish value magic).
I love both Merrill and Velanna (as well as their characterization) but I felt as though they really didn't bring much to the table while the Circle companions (Wynne being somewhat pro-circle and Anders raised in the Circle but became an apostate) and Moriggan brought much more.
So...no. I'm not exactly tired of elven mages but
dalish elven mages that, thus far, left a lot to be desired in terms of providing lore (characterization and story-telling purposes aside).
But I'm off-topic.

EDIT:
@BasilKarlo
I explained why. Having a male elf would be different, yes, but hardly sustantional. A Tevinter magister? That truly would be unique. Let's hope he provideds interesting lore pertaining to his
background.
