Oh yeah, we're going through the tear to kick the ass of whoever started this mess.
Maybe that is the big choice. If you close the Tear in the Veil, you'll be trapped in the Fade forever.

What? Maybe you're pro-templar, but you know nothing about magic apparently.

You can enter the Fade without any tear in the Veil and come back.

Not physically. That description makes it sound like the Inquisitor physically enters the Fade, which has never been done as far as we know.

What people have been talking about this entire time is physically entering the fade through the tear in the veil. If you're physically in the fade and close the veil from the other side, it stands to reason you can't come back since, you know...you're body's not in Thedas anymore.

In the past, it's only been possible for non-mages to enter the Fade under special circumstances - being pulled across the Veil by a powerful demon, for instance.

Perhaps with the Veil torn, it's now possible for anyone to send their waking mind into the Fade by the same means as a mage.

The Magister Lords of the Tevinter Imperium did it.

We have no reason to believe that. All we know is that they entered the Black City, not that they did so physically.

Sorry to bring this image up again- boohoo
But I've noticed that a lot of users are calling the obviously orlesian girl "the scribe girl" - but couldn't be the girl
Vivienne? Only without the extreme super pompous mask/hat/insert-something-else-in-here?

She is not Vivienne.
I think:
A woman standing behind the Inquisitor looks like Аntivan or Rivaini (or antivan with rivain roots). From her look and feel I can make a conclusion she is a noblewoman. Most likely she is not a companion, but a role of some negotiator/significant partaker at the council quite suits her.

^This. So far, we have no "true" account of what really happened all those years ago. Hopefully that will change with the upcoming game. :D

I'm considering the possibility these two might go together. You capture a dragon and force it to take you through the tear into the Fade.
The problem is that that would pretty much be Skyrim's endgame where you capture a dragon and force it to take you to the realm of the dead. I hope Bioware is more original than that.

It was hinted that Morrigan's Eluvian allowed her to physically enter the fade, so it's possible that she would be able to get the Inquisitor out, for a price probably. Or perhaps she is instrumental in closing the tear in the first place. Either way I think the Eluvian will play an important role.

Considering that the Magisters punched a hole in the veil during their attempt to physically enter the Golden City the Fade tear might enable non-mage travel between the realms.

Some places like Kirkwall exist at points where the veil is thin, the tear might further weaken those points making travel between reality and the Fade easier. Depending on how navigation in the Fade works you might be able to enter at one point and exit somewhere else in Thedas, kind of like the Nevernever in The Dresden Files.

If this is the fade at least they have added vibrant colour to it. If I had just seen the picture I would've guessed deep roads was more likely.

Again, we have no reason to believe that Magisters who entered the Black City did so or attempted to do so physically. And you'll have to provide a source for them tearing open the veil when they entered the Black City because I don't recall hearing that.

So what creature did they stick little reflective dots to in order to get a proper motion cap? I'm guessing a tamed falcon. They would make for good dragon wings, I think.

Again, we have no reason to believe that Magisters who entered the Black City did so or attempted to do so physically.

But the historical record states that they entered the Black City physically, and Corypheus' statements back that up. There's more evidence that it occured than to the contrary.

You'll have to source that. AFAIK we've only heard that those magisters tainted the city and that it was it was tainted before they got there. Nothing about them going there physically and nothing about Corypheus saying they physically went there.

That's 5 warriors. And I'm still confused about where the chevalier companion thing came from. I don't remember anything about a chevalier in the leak.

DA: O had 6 warriors. Admittedly one was a dog, one was a Golem, and you couldn't have Alistair and Loghain at the same time, but that's still 6 warriors.

From the Codex on "The Cardinal Rules of Magic":

"Even when you send your mind into the Fade, your body remains behind. Only once has this barrier been overcome, and reputedly the spell required two-thirds of the lyrium in the Tevinter Imperium, as well as the lifeblood of several hundred slaves. The results were utterly disastrous."

It's mentioned in World of Thedas as well, but I don't have my copy in front of me and it will be a few hours before I'm home again.
