Thanks for the link... but that actual video was neither tactical, isometric nor party-based.

Why are they constantly in these videos TALKING about how tactical things are, then show nothing but first-person, action combat like in Dragon's Dogma? This is VERY disappointing, but I'll be waiting for the full reveal video.

I havent seen the other videos, but i think this was just b-roll gameplay footage to interplay with Mr. Darrah's interview. I am with you about waiting for a full vid reveal though! :)

I can't imagine you playing as a TRUE Sarebaas. You'd be in chains and looking to rush right back to your handler, or looking at killing yourself because you might be possessed by demons, unbeknownst to you.

Can't see that working too well.

Exactly, hence me asking. It wouldn't make sense.
This is the tweet, I guess.

User: Any word if we can play as Qunari mage?
Mike Laidlaw: You can, yes.

Gameplay!

Heheh. That dodge roll. You know, even if it was limited to exactly what it looks like, it probably wouldn't actually bother me. But we have yet to see the extent of this 'tactical' gameplay. I still don't believe they'd remove something so fundamental as pause-and-play.

That aside... man, that stuff rocks. The dragon flyby, the new firestorm. The two-handed attacks seem weightier, which is good too.

I don't like what I'm hearing about these "Red Templars". I hope they're a faction that broke off the main force and that there is a mage equivalent. They could even be presented in a tragic manner, showing how they had no choice but to use the Red Lyrium.
If the Templars become like ME3 Cerberus, I certainly won't care how many playable races there might be.

Prepare yourself for disappointment then. The Templars damned themselves the moment they broke away from the Chantry, to pursue the murder of mages. I can't think of anything Bioware could do to salvage them now.

That's largely your opinion. Without trying to turn this thread into a templar vs mages debate, the mages broke away from the Chantry as much as the templars did and there is plenty Bioware could do to "salvage" them.
For instance, mages fall prey to demons. They weren't being hunted, they didn't do it to protect themselves, they just fell into temptation and became Abominations and now threaten a village; or maybe, a group of Libertarians/Resolutionists are using a village as a mage outpost and taking liberties with the largely defenseless population. The Templars are trying to protect the village and kill the mages/abominations when the Inquisition arrives.

I use those examples in order to fit with the scenario we were presented in the game. It's as easily as that, all I'm asking is for some equal representation of both good and bad elements of both groups.
If we're in for a "Templars = bad, mages = good and misunderstood" I know I can spare a few dozen Euros.

Darn...I wasn't specific when I asked him. I asked if we could play as Qunari mage and he replied that "Yes, you can."

Now they need to show Rogue in action

I'd say they i'd rather see the PARTY in action. We've yet to see a combat video where the camera or player is showing control over anyone but one character. They might have showed this in the actual gameplay at PAX Lrime, but the only videos that are posting so far have all been single character control, not party.

Yeah apparently they showed it behind closed doors.

I'd love to see it for myself.

As a Bioware fan I KNOW we'll be getting party based combat but all these videos are likely misleading to a lot of the others(especially the haters). It gives the imperssion of it being more action oriented.

I'm positive though, just eager to see some actual party based combat footage..including pausing. That's one thing I've yet to see in any footage and it's bugging me a tad. I hope they don't decrease the emphasis on pausing(I love pausing!).

I just noticed that when Vivienne was about to shoot the meteor fireball attack, the gameplay kept going. In DAO and DA2 when an AOE was about to be used, the gameplay paused.

I know this a grey issue, but the Templars jumped off the slippery slope. I'm pretty sure they're going to frame it as "Mages=Extremely dangerous, but people", "Chantry/Loyal Templars= Oppressive, but warranted", and "Renegade Templars= Cerberus".

Vivienne is Orlesian, she will have a French accent. That wasn't Vivienne.

First time I heard it I was sure it was Cassandra, but people around here seems to think it's not the same voice. I don't know what to say to this.

Well, I hope you're wrong. The game seems to be shaping up to be very good apart from the plot and I'd like to play it.

This is what i call "Too much info".

In a good way.

Earlier in the day, we learn dual wielding warriors are back, mages with heavy armor are back, customization allows you to look like a boss, with armor and cloths and coats and robes and whatever.

Now Qunari are a playable race and from the concept art, that Kossith fem Inquisitor looks badass.

THE QUNQUISITOR IS COMING!

Hmm. Mage is my main class in DA. I wouldn't suggest to poke me. Especially by a templar.

It's when the dragon attack , Varric talks "how do we force it to the ground."
Then I guess Vivienne "I do not believe that would be the problem"
And Cass : I will get his attention.

She sounded a bit like Traynor.
