Horses and bowstrings... is this real life?

Maybe there'll even be capes?

Edit: Anyway, I'm still holding out for a bronto mount.

I'm holding out for a dragon mount myself

KeepS. Multiple! Bases of operations, and customisable?

Sounds pretty great.

Omg thank you so much for the video.

I like the Inquisitor's voice! I'm surprised it isn't Orlesian, though. BUT it might be a placeholder or something.

You are a gentleman and a scholar, good sir.

Does that look like the console version of DA2 at all? Or DA:O? To me it looks like ME... but I've never played console DA.

The interface looks a little different but it's still familiar from playing the PS3 version.  Bringing up the radial menu in DA:O and DA2 pauses the game and you can select potions or skills/spells, and command the party individually from there, among other things.  The six-button hotkey menu in the corner and the party display seems to only pop up during battles.

Maybe not gameplay, but the interface is fairly identical. The radial menu is the console equivalent of pausing the game.

Based on camera behavior in that video, I'm going to assume that mouse control is going to be confined to the tactical view (and/or only when paused) if it's present at all. It looks like moving the camera is going to be too fundamental to incorporate it in some way other than by tying it to mouse movement.

What do you mean, confined to the tactical view? I know you're speculating, I'm just not sure I follow what you mean.

The lack of clipping in that video was nice, although I found myself wishing for reactivity from the foliage. I also couldn't see any real-time reflections in the water (those ripples were truly awful, though)—I was hoping they would move the Inquisitor just a little closer to the shore so we could see, but of course they didn't.

I tend to think water effects are just a waste of processing power, so I can't say, but the water looked fine to me.

It isn't that a choice, though? So if you don't want to be spoiled, you can turn it off? :?

An example on how it wouldn't be spoilery.

"The enemies are attacking, should we protect the village or focus on defense of the keep"

"Pull back" [Orders troops back to castle leaving village vulnerable]

"Defend the village" [Splits troops so castle will be more vulnerable]

Neither of the clarifications are a spoiler of what is going to happen, just a clarification of choice.

Edit: Disclaimer, this conversation is not based on seeing anything and is pulled from my behind. Just as a proof of concept.

I honestly fail to see where is the spoiler in here. Isn't it similar to reading pc's lines in dao? I thought it meant only what they were going to say. If anything it seems we'll finally have some control over what our pc is saying. (I am not directing my curiosity it at you Herr Uhl, thanks for some good examples).

Thanks! Gives me hope the PC version will stay the same. Bioware's been making all the right moves so far, it'd be a shame if they messed this last part up for me. :P

Were those just neutral choices? Did they remove the diplomatic/sarcastic/aggro tones :(?

Okay the animation are really great . It's changed in mud or while moving on  steep terrain. Hell it's changed just stepping on that rock and it's look weighty and natural .. You guy should make it so the grass move also when you run into it. I like it so far :D. You guy should add footprint too !! Just a suggestion !

I also noticed that the character was wet while fighting in the cave water . .Even Dripping ?  You guy are .... EPIC !
I loved the whirlwind sword attack.. Made 3 big swing that looked quite weighty !!!

Oh man ... I am so excited right now !

WTh .. You can now climb Ladder ? That a new thing !

How do you imagine that?
Sarcastic Inquisitor: Oh, yes, let's go to the Keep and leave the people to die :D

Those would be action choices - the kind where you got the arrows - in DA2 parleance. We don't know what they did with the tones.

It is specifically for decisions (according to the video), so you won't choose anything you don't know. The hover zoom thing says what the order means in detail.

Not really spoiling.

I'd have to see it more in practice to see how it works out. I know one of the preview articles I read talks about how there's an option to disable it so that players aren't spoiled, so I'm curious just how much detail it really ends up giving.

Yeah, it sounds like it'll all depend on the implementation of it. I just want to know exactly what my PC is going to say or do. So if instead of a renegade interupt it annotates that I'll punch some character in the face, that's fine. But if its saying I'm going to punch somebody in the face and they'll have a heart attack and die as a result or that they'll be angry with me, I don't want that.

I'm disappointed that there is no Orlesian Inquisitor voice, and even MORE disappointed that Vivienne doesn't have one. It's like they are scared to have a party with more foreign accents than bleeding ferelden again.

If the Inquisitor has an American accent then there are no words which could adequately express my disappointment.

I think you're right!

Traynor's voice actor is Alix Wilton Regan, who also played Set Cauthrien in DAO.

The people who hate the accent really hate it, so I can't blame them.
