Will the Inquisitor have an actual name like Hawk or Shepard?
I loved the demo, but to me It seemed rather cold and impersonal for Varric to call you buy your title, and that's mid way thought the game so you'd think he'd know you abit.
What do you guys think?

Well in orgins everybody just called you "Warden" so this is really nothing new. Personally I just wish they give the PC a first name but that just seems to be me.

The video I took is uploading here. It's not good at all - you can't really see much due to the screen getting washed out, so I stopped recording after the opening conversation with your party. I switched to trying to get screenshots. I'll check through those for any that are worth uploading after I get my pizza out of the oven. Starving here.

They could get away with using "Warden" and "Hawke" a lot less in their respective games anyway (mostly Hawke), I don't know why so many characters need a handle to address you when it's just the two of you talking... If there are surnames I'd guess they'll most likely be per race and only used in text like in DAO, "Inquisitor" is probably our handle this time.

But they've not confirmed anything yet as far as I know. Plus, Varric calling you by your title kind of makes sense for him.

The races will all have different last names -- like in Origins so they can't really call you by your last name. Plus it was kind of weird that everyone just called Hawke by his last name anyway. No one does that in the real world except in high school.

As for it being impersonal of Varric, the inquisitor is his boss. Hawke was his bff (or, that's what Bioware pretty much tried to push on the player). The relationship probably has a very different dynamic.

Yeah, I know they're all about customization after DA II but I wouldn't mind them assigning you a first name so characters could call you that. It makes things less stilted. Granted, the writers were pretty good about how they handled people addressing you as "warden."

never felt stilted to me, but I'm one of those people who is so bad at remembering names that in March I'll still not know the name of everyone I eat lunch with every single day LOL. You get very, very good at referring to people without their names if you are like me, and most people really don't notice unless they are exceptionally name-droppy in my experience.

Hawke by his last name anyway. No one does that in the real world except in high school.

And in sports, social groups and even tight knit communities.

I prefer being called Kennedy than by Kevan anyway.

Soo Varric refers to inquisitor as "inquisitor". "Hey inquisitor" sounds much less personal than "Hey Hawke". I'm not sure how I will feel being only referred to as "inquisitor" for the whole game

I really hope we're not referred to as that the whole game

"The Inquisitor doesn't agree." "We should go that way, Inquisitor." Yeah, I'll also be missing it as well.

Was it a big deal in Origins being referred to as "Warden" all the time? I'll take an impersonal title over my character being as pre-defined as Hawke or Shepard if that's the tradeoff.

Probably should've just stuck with Seeker like it seemed they were doing originally. Inquisitor just takes too long to say and doesn't roll off the tongue as well as Warden or Hawke.

Maybe it'll work. Hard to say. I'd rather companions refer to my Oxman as "Qunari" or "Oxman" or "Great Horned One," personally.

Cameron Lee has a great line in here about the Inquisition influence mechanic being more complex than ME3's Galactic Readiness, and says that it impacts more of the game than just the end.

I like Mike's analogy that as well as building a character in the game, we're actually building an organisation too.

(fan) Id like to know how players can build up a relationship & what types of different interactions will be introduced to #3.

Mark Darrah@BioMarkDarrah we are moving away from purely mechanical approval scales to something more natural

Brooks from the mass effect 3 citadel DLC is playing the first enchanter companion. I'd recognise her sexy voice anywhere. It's just slightly more majestic than Brooks.

True, I think people have suggested a few actors.

Solmeone said Natasha Little (Janeka from DA2 Legacy), others April Banigan (apparently that was Maya?) and also the female Sith Warrior from SWTOR.
