Evangeline would get in the way of Cullen. And I very much prefer my Cullen.

I'd guess that you'd need to kill the spirit in the fade or force the spirit to leave Wynne to really "kill" Wynne?
Who knows, maybe the spirit has tranformed Wynne into something else and after Asunder she is in the fade?
Even if Wynne is not recruited by the Warden it doesn't mean that she can't become influential member of the Circle. I'd suppose that Wynne wouldn't be travelling with Shale or never got the title of an Archmage in such a case, but perhaps it would not stop her from dooing all the things that are crucial story-wise for mage/templar coflict?
After all when the spirit saved her in the tower she had a sense of mission. That the spirit saved her for a reason.

Cassandra's warhorn sounds like an indication that companions will bring special talents and powers/spells to combat.
Though maybe it's just an item/skill tree thing, given that it looks like any character with a shield can bash enemy armour and break through doors.
The most intriguing feature for me is how the companions will add extra-capabilities to the keeps we hold. I foresee dragon-taming facilities thanks to Cass

I like (and prefer) the character from Asunder to be Cole but...and this is just throwing this out there...I think it could also refer to a Shale who has returned to dwarven form which would fit both the "character from asunder" and "the character whose appearance had changed significantly".
It would certainly be interesting. We already have a Cadash dwarf PC, and it would link to Sandal's 'prophecy', everyone will be just like they were before.
But unless Shale is the first dwarven mage as a result of this ritual, she's probably going to be a warrior, of which we're already speculatng a fair amount of.

I'm fairly sure Matt Rhodes posted in this thread about the "character whose appearance had changed significantly", and mentioned that he only meant it was a chance to rework the designs and outfits of characters from previous games to add more personality with the Frostbite engine.
I can't remember exactly what he wrote though, and his account hasn't got the Bioware tag so it won't show up in the list of Bioware posts. But it's.. probably 20 or 30 pages back

Maybe the fade tear gives the spirit a physical presence?

The Inquisitor could see him, perhaps, if we're the usual RPG Most Important Person in the World with Magical Powers™
But everyone else won't, which means that he wouldn't be interacting with the other companions at all and companion interactions are supposed to be more present in DAI. Beside, the guy is a demon and the Inquisition job is to close the portals and kill demons...

I forgot about Matt Rhodes clarifying his statement and like you, I would have thought that Shale would be referenced as an Origins character.

A long time ago, a young man died a cruel death in a dark place. And now, somehow, there is Cole. Was he a spirit or a demon? Is he human now? Cole’s not sure it matters anymore. Hounded by memories that aren’t his, invisible in a world he can stalk like a shadow, the rogue must decide between joining the living or preying on them.
If I had to guess, his identity crisis is the basis for his companion arc.

He wasn't significant in terms of the overall plot, but he was by far the most interesting part of Asunder. That and the book ends with him about to do something really bad ass.

Asunder shifts perspective between Rhys, Evangeline and Cole throughout the book, so yes I would consider him significant.
@hhh89 - You're welcome.
