I like Cole and he was interesting character in Asunder but I prefer someone who everyone can see so Rhys or Evangeline (can't forget that she get spirit from Wynne, so who knows maybe she have her memories too)

I would definitely enjoy Rhys.

He might be able to fulfill the whole healer specialty companion that they always seem to want to have.

EDIT: Actually ill go a step farther, Leliana, Cassandra and Varric all join you at the start of the game and help you found the Inquisition

Inq. I was speaking to Cole
Cass. speaking to who ?
Inq. damn again I forget that no one can see him ...

i know how it could look fun but after some time it will be boring

Anyways I suspect Cole... Why? He's still out there and he can EASILY fit the Bioware "unsual character trope" that was like Legion or Shale. Most importantly, he's a demon and part of the Fade so I sense he'll play a major role in bringing the tear to a close. 

Meanwhile, I doubt Rhys, who's currently the a major ringleader of the mage rebellion, will drop everything to join the Inquistion. The same principle goes with Evangeline... That and I doubt we need ANOTHER ex-Templar heavy soldier if we get Cullen and Cassandra.

Oh god, I want to believe it's Cole. He's so perfectly set up to be a companion and I can't see him being more appropriate than in a game where the veil is tearing apart. Does anyone have a source for that comment?

Maybe he's not invisible but he's (or were) cursed and people didn't see him (unless wanted to die or he allowed them to see him) or didn't remember about him for ex. Evangeline saw him first time after returning from the Fade.

unless as You said it changed but really don't remember about his curse not exist anymore at the end in Asunder.

I'm curious as to whether this means that you won't be able to use healing spells on your party members outside of combat?

When he realized what he is he changed. He's not going to be forgotten by everyone but Rhys any more. The Lord Seeker remembered him.
