Meh, they're having fun.

Part of why we opened this is also for people to stop filling up DA2 forums with DA3 threads. It was not exactly the best kept secret in the entire world and all.

No, we can't dwell... not today.

Why IS it called SPRINTreviewday anyway? Is there sprinting involved? It seems an odd way to hold a meeting in that case. xp

I really hate these stupid tweets that don't say anything about anything. They're basically just nonsensical wastes of time that we get nothing out of. And this whole "We won't actually show anything from the game until Spring 2013, but please discuss everything(see: nothing) about the game except for the leak" is ridiculous. Priestly confirmed they only announced the game because of the Doctors' departure, but what was the point? They have nothing to show us to garner excitement and pre-orders haven't started so what exactly did they get out of it? The only news coverage it's gotten is "Dragon Age 3 has a title and that's it."

Ha. You would have done poorly in the three year span between DAO's announce and its reveal. If you expect the forums to be a place where information is provided, coming here during that time is definitely an exercise in frustration.

It's part of Agile Development, where a game development cycle is split up into milestones-- which are further split up into three-week sprints. So a sprint review is where everyone gets together and reviews the progress which has been made over the last three weeks, and tracking how close we are to meeting our goals for the milestone.

Huh. I liked the mental image of devs sprinting through streets while holding laptops showing powerpoint presentations in suits in ties more tbh. :P

I, personally, like reading the tweets as they work on the game. It's quite clever how they tell us things without really telling us anything. I'm sure they snicker heartily while posting them and I love it. It builds excitement. :)

Here I thought the devs got a sponsorship from Sprint to fill in some of the holes in their budget from EA.

Expecting the forums to be the place that it is meant to be is definitely an exercise in frustration as well. :P

Conversation and non-hateful debate get ruined by the legions of whiny gamer babies. lol

On topic: If people wish to only see tweets with game updates, make a topic for tweets about game updates. It might be empty for awhile, but at least they wont have to click it to know there's nothing worthwhile to them inside it.

Twitter threads are supposed to contain pertinent tweets. This is just a weird case since the announcement of the game was basically flubbed.

It's called having fun.  The point is to try and say things without saying anything. ;)

Some people like to follow them and analyze and it seems fun for them too.

People that don't follow the tweets or don't care, don't have to.

Is this the first time Bioware has used Agile?

I don't remember hearing about it during ME3's development, or DA2 - although admittedly I didn't follow DA2 that closely.

Just interested in its benefits compared to other methods, or why it seems to be something a lot of teams are raving about all of a sudden.

There's nothing to analyze. Its literally nonsense. Unless the DA3 team is using some elaborate code and thinks we're all like the autistic kid from Mercury Rising I don't see the point of it. It seems like a waste of you guy's time and it's definitely a waste of ours to try and glean anything from it. We got more info out of a single tweet from a voice actor than the hundreds of tweets from actual developers.

In the sense that you can come here to discuss your interests with like minded people. Most of us probably don't have a group of friends that we can discuss obscure Dragon Age lore or ME3 MP tactics with. The point of the BSN is the same as any other discussion forum.

I'm confused as to how, while sitting in a room watching great presentations, tweeting a sentence about them is a "waste of time".

But thats besides the point.

It's fun for us, and for the people that do like to follow along.
