Made a category in our backlog called "Loot". Forgot how much loot you have an an RPG... Spending some time subdividing it again. Was scary.

DA Factoid time! A complete list of all characters who are -definitely- wardens and -definitely- alive, from the games:
1. Stroud

I'm all about this.
I had to look this name up in the wiki because I had no idea who he was. Since in my game Bethany died in the Deep Roads and Alistair remained with the wardens, I never encountered him when I played DAII. At least I feel better knowing I didn't just forget him (I remember very few characters from DAII who weren't companions). The warden in the concept art looked considerably older to me, though, so I'm not convinced they're the same character.

You still would have met Stroud during the Qunari attack in Act 2. He helps you fight off some Qunari in Lowtown by Gamlen's house and then there's a cutscene before he goes on his way. If Alistair's a Grey Warden, Alistair will also be with Stroud at this point.

That's correct Stroud will only show up in act 2 if Alistair is not with the grey wardens and he might be with either Bethany or Carver depending on if you made them a grey warden otherwise he will be with some random wardens.

Weekend spent writing. I actually finished what I set out to do. That comes with a really good feeling, even if I am kinda exhausted.

@davidgaider Oh? Kick ass.
David Gaider
@Mike_Laidlaw Yeah, I only have the main hub left now-- so I'll be completely done before the end of the week. Woo!
Mike Laidlaw
@davidgaider That's kind of a land speed record, even for you. Killer. Thank you.

A Gaider land speed record? That's either going to be an intense set of dialogue or have mentions of break dancing mabari. Maybe both!Wiedzmin182009 wrote...

bioware should bring back shapeshifting
Shapeshifting has been given the short end of the stick in amny of it's games. I think they have a rela ahrd time balancing it.
I find that in most games it starts out useful for a level or two but very soon becomes under powered compared to other available spells and too dangerous for the caster. I'd like to see a bit of a druid type class with some more useful unique abilites.

Besides the design/balance implications, the other thing about shapeshifting that makes it tricky on the implementation side is that it requires essentially the same performance footprint as another party character (because you can't afford to load and unload a character's worth of assets in the middle of combat). We have a runtime budget for number of creatures in combat that we have to stick to for memory and performance reasons, and party members are heavier than most enemies...
Just one more thing we have to balance in the great exercise in tradeoffs we call game production!

It'd be awesome if he threw in a Breaking Bad reference.
So, what hand do I use to hold it?
Your goddamn right!
Or...
Hey, so...should I just go in or-
No! I am the one who knocks.
Or...
I don't know what to do... I'm nervous.
Look honey, just keep calm and **** Ted.

Dragon Age@dragonage: The High Dragon in DA2 is considered one of the toughest boss fights in the series. Which characters did you use to take the beast down?
I usually take Fenris, Anders, and Isabela

Aveline, Varric and Fenris... or was it Anders? I usually don't meta game so I just assume my character has no idea what to expect. But that fight needs exceptions. If it was just Aveline, Varric and Fenris then it must have been hell.
Or was it Fenris, Varric and Anders?
Arrgh!! Which one was it? ><

2 melee characters is too much hassle to move out of the way of the dragon's attacks. Even if my Rogue usually figts melee they'll use a bow.

That would be awesome, but why not both? It's not like he's a scrawny little guy.

If I recall, it was Anders, Varric and Merrill, with a warrior Hawke.

Soo... Does that mean we get a DA:I release after that sometime in Nov or Dec? Or does that mean we get another release date delay?
