So any word on this picture/update we were going to be getting later today?

Well, to be fair, they said "soon," not today.

Soon could be March, for all we know.

Cameron Lee said "soon" about the photo but this morning, after the blog post when up, Aaryn Flynn said today:

"A bit more coming today too :)

True, but there were also a few screenshots released through gameinformer after that tweet. So that fulfills there "bit more" that was to come "today".

I like the coat ...Would be nice if it's possible to have this coat and just a simple mage robe underneath.
The hat is a bit too much for me .

Aww , I want to walk around Orlais with my Inquisitor looking like a grunge pirate ...and just tease people going all "B**** , what you're wearing is so passé! *eyeroll*"

Companions I don't like ..well those who just annoys me will wear Pink , and those I hate will have Pink helmet + green boots + mustard yellow armor.

None of the shots have really impressed me, to be honest.

In terms of fidelity, everything seems to be looking good, but style? These latest screens all seem alarmingly bland (comically ridiculous hat notwithstanding :P), to the point where I couldn't even say some of them were from Dragon Age without the little identifying badge.

Strange, to me, this is the first time the series has had much of any style at all, sort of a lovely pastel look, and a much better implementation of the concept art. DAO's look is in the dictionary next to Generic High Fantasy. Shot of a guy with some big ol' pauldrons.

I think in one of the pics , the Inquisitor is in a Ferelden Chantry.
The one with the big hallway, all the arches on the side reminds me of the Lothering one.
Lothering is pretty close to Redcliff , so who knows?

Wasn't the Lothering Chantry burned to the ground?

Burned?I don't know...
The darkspawn destroyed the village but it's been more than 10 years , so it's possible people rebuild the place.
Anyway it was just some speculations , it could be any place.
Just the arches and alcoves remind me of this place. But it might just be something quite common in Ferelden.

It's probably a new location but that screenshot of the forest with a pointing statues reminds me quite vividly of the Brecilian Forest. Wonder if we visit some more classic locations in addition to the new Fereldan areas?

The building we see Hat-quisitor and it's architecture do scream "Ferelden!" to me but it seems a bit big for the Lothering chantry. If it's even still there.

the degrading armour feature sounds good but i hope it won't become to much of a chore....if they don't make you spent 1/4 of your armours value to repair it or limit the number of times you can repair the armour, if the stats of the armour drop with every repair that would be bad. If the devs keep it balanced, not to expensive it could be fun

I don't know if that is a new pic or not... but the guard to the right looks like he REALLY needs to pee and is holding it in.

Thats a picture from the trailer 'The Fires Above' when the Grey Wardens are getting attacked. So it's a pretty old picture

It sounds like crafting is doing to be deeper than either DA:O or DA2's systems, so this might come into it. Presumably there'd have to be a balance between not bankrupting or infuriating the player with constant repairing, and having some sort of reflection of visual degradation in the stats or whatever.

Though I wonder, since mages don't wear armour and don't generally use weapons physically in combat, wouldn't that be an advantage? Maybe the degradation is just a visual/appearance feature, nothing more.

That makes sense. He's been holding it in a long time, then?

Redcliff is kinda close to the mage tower , no?
I mean they are near lake Calenhad and everything...I'd like to see the mage tower again.
And swim in the lake .

Anyway it's a bit strange seeing Redcliff with actual red cliff and red bricks.

If we go to redcliff I'm guessing we'll get to see the result of our desision there. Somehow I also think something demonic is going to happen there again. Mage towers are built near places where the veil is thinner.

AarynFlynn: "It means exactly that."

Wow! I would like that!

Looks like we'll be getting exactly that! My poor Inquisitor is gonna be running around looking a right mess, because I'm rubbish at keeping up with the whole wear 'n' tear thing.

We have servants thoguh right? Can't they repair/wash our stuff?

They had the degrading armour and weapons in Armalur, it added nothing,it drained resources which meant tedious grinding.
