I enjoyed the Witcher and am playing Witcher 2 now. IMHO DA2 is definitely better than the Witcher, but so far The Witcher 2 is better than DA2 but not as good as DAA or DAO.

Competition between gaming companies is a good thing as it creates more options for the consumer. IMHO, competition encouraged Bioware and EA to delay DAI and try to make DAI the best game possible.

Easy. I choose DA:I over The Witcher.

Hell, I choose DA2 to The Witcher.

I hate that I can not make my own character in Witcher.

I agree. I hate playing as some pre-set dude, and in particular Geralt. Hate it. Couldn't even get through the first witcher game because I disliked Geralt so much.
DA:I is pretty much the only 2014 game I'm looking forward to.

That IGN face-off is broken, it keeps giving me 50% on every single choice. But OMG, a new Wolfenstein? Now I have another title to look forward to in addition to DAI.

I think that part of the idea is that you can find new games that you wouldn't have known about otherwise :D

How you didn't noticed it?
Its reveal trailer used a Jimi Hendrix's song for crying out loud!! (All along the Watchtower)

To think, if I didn't stick it out to vote for DAI at least once I'd have never known about the new Trials game or the Abe's Oddysee remake.

Thanks, Dragon Age!

I really like being able to create my own character. Buuut I picked up Witcher to play.
It was ok playing as some horny grizzled dude.....and the first time I didn't complete a quest in time and the person I was escorting died...I was like Wow! Cool....

But I wasn't able to finish the first game.....the camera controls made me motion sick. Found out 2 had the same issue so didn't pick it up.

Don't want to play a game where the camera controls make me feel like puking.

And I never got DA:I as a choice.....*boo*

love the characterdesign, stylish hat it is! It's a rogue right? You got me even more excited now!!

Aaryn Flynn ‏@AarynFlynn

TBH I don't think that Inquisitor is a rogue. Customization is extensive and let's you wear hats regardless of class (will check)

Gorgeous! #DAI is gonna look amazing in Frostbite. Any chance we get to see a Fem!Inquisitor too?

Aaryn Flynn ‏@AarynFlynn

Totally. We should be showing that plus races next year.

Apparently it's not restricted by class so any Inquisitor can wear it.

So....what would be Thedas' transportation equivalent of a metallic maroon Cadillac with whitewall tires and fuzzy dice hanging from the rear view mirror (not to mention 70's '"wah-wah guitar" music blaring from the speakers)?

'Cause if ya gets the hat ya gotta gets the ride that goes with it.  Image IPB

Watcher is an amazing game. First one was very big and I needed a walk through but I loved the themes they touched on. When I beat 1 I felt very satisfied.

I kind of liked the first Witcher game, and the second one - initially I thought was very cool. Until I got to Dethmold's death scene. It was so repugnant and unapologetic in its homophobia, that I felt like they took my money, then spat me in the face. I was actually shaking. I quit the game and never returned to it. Probably never will.

ummmm, you are kinda wrong... it have nothing to do with Dethmold sexual preferences.... Vernon is just a very
sadistic bastard and he wanted him to suffer as much as he can in that short amount of time they got to rescure
daughter of the king...

This is great, I hope most of the appearance/cosmetic items are open to every class.

I'm wrong? I didn't feel that way? Thanks for clearing that up!

Dethmold exhibits (in the entire game, but in that scene in particular) every bit of gay stereotype imaginable. From the effeminate tone of his voice and the effeminate way he moves, through his discussion of fashion and other people's dressing faux pas while staring at the mirror and popping his zits, through his (sapparent) sexual exploitation of his servant and sexual-predatory ways (the casual "all right, pants off!"), through his snivelling and cowardice, to the manner in which he was killed (i.e. he is castrated and then has his genitalia stuffed in his mouth (!!!) before his throat is slit, accompanied by the comment "You reap what you sow"), and the various S/M and torture papraphanalia hanging on the walls. And then having the naked servant wailing "Have mercy, he forced me!" clearly indicates that homosexuality is a crime that should be punished by death. If you think that is not homophobia... well... I don't know what to say to you.

And it's quite clear why they did it - they used homosexuality to make him creepy and unsettling. You can see the game devs referring to that (a bit obliquely, but clearly nonetheless) here: http://witcher.wikia.com/wiki/Dethmold

But this is way off topic for this thread.

Am I the only one who doesn't care for hats? I find them ridiculous.

I'll admit I'm not keeping up to date with releases and announcements.

I'm even more glad I decided not to give them my money for a game that clearly ignores or insults players that are not straight males.
