[Spectre slayer]

I'm aware of the loading screen that was shown during the pax demo and the digiexpo one which is the same one, but the date of the articles is the 31st of August during pax where that loading screen was actually officially shown, and Darrah's mentioned Tevinter around that time aswell, also we don't know if that's the entire map or even officially the map that DAI uses.

The truth is besides saying that we will be going to different nations and lots of places they haven't officially ruled out anything or even confirmed anything besides the fact we will be going to both Fereldan and Orliais and that a majority of the events take place there, and that our actions will get noticed by nations among other things.


How many nations we are going to is completely unknown so far

Mentioned or hinted at
Tevinter
Neverra
Free Marches
Kal Sharok

That makes 6 of them, not sure if we'll get anymore than that or when they'll officially confirm what nations we'll be going to so we'll just have to wait and see. Oh and absolutely nothing has been ruled out just yet nor have they made their full plans known.

We know you can get there by boat pretty easily, from DAO.
Whether our Inquisitor will do any boat riding remains to be seen.

Laidlaw said the game is set mainly in Orlais and Ferelden, they're not going to show us a small part of such an important nation as Tevinter. Maybe we will see parts of the southern border but certainly not Minrathous.

so the stuff spectre so ably pointed out was just talk ?

shrugs.
More likely they originally intended to have us visit additional places like Tevinter but ran out of time/space/finances, something and had to cut back and eliminate stuff.
Would be sad but wouldn't dampen player enthusiasm too much I would think.

You do know that doesn't rule anything out right, and that they've said numerous times that we will be going to different nations, that this is a game of nations, that nations will rise against nations and a majority just means that both the Fereldan and Orliais parts will be bigger than all of the other parts for the other nations combined.

I don't want for Tevinter to have a small part, I want it to be fully fleshed out and for us to go in depth in it's culture and war with the Qunari but that is only possible in another game. I think DAI will feature the nations shown in the loading screen map, Orlais, Ferelden, Nevarra and the Free Marches. Also in PAX east I think, they showed a map of Thedas and circled the nations I mentioned and said they would like to focus in these areas in the future. They did not circle Tevinter.

Indeed. There is also a bridge near that location if you look at the map closer.

And yeah...I believe they just add some villages like Crestwood that have never existed before. It's been 10 years ago when we were in Ferelden. So things could change and new villages could have arised after the blight. You know...people could have moved etc.

Particularly since the land around Lothering is blighted and people can't live there anymore.

True, but just the very edge of the Silent Plains are visible. I wouldn't expect a location marker to appear so close to the descriptive text above, just from a UI standpoint. Nothing north of the bridge at anyway...

Possibly, but I highly suspect it's just too small a village to wind up on the map. And since it's nestled between a lake and the mountains, I'm sure it's just one of those lakes we can see tucked around the Frostback Mtns. on the map.

According to the Dragon Age Wiki, the Silent Plains are part of Nevarra and Tevinter, which means that the border between both countries is somewhere in the plains itself. I believe that this information comes from the RPG set, although it's not sourced in the wiki as is.

Only thing is, the image has now been deleted or lost (at least via that link).

It was Patrick Weekes that made a joke about a trade route (since, on the map, the Imperial Highway runs nowhere near Solas and just sorta wanders through the middle of the desert)

That's how DAO, DAII (sort of) and Awakening worked.

It's also probably a placeholder and nothing final.
