Oh, and for those thinking it could be Arlathan... Arlathan's in the north by Tevinter so it's pretty unlikely we'll see it in DAI.

Gaide wrote a bit in his blog. It seems that a lot of plots have been changed, and he had to personally re-write two full plots and one companion. He talked again about the companions he desired to wrote since he joined Bioware too.

"Fires of Right"? Yeah, that sounds like Templars, or maybe just Chantry influence in general. Perhaps a Dalish refuge? Or maybe something left of Arlathan?hhh89 wrote...
Right? Could it be a reference to the templars?eluvianix wrote...
The Twitter tagline reads: “In places untouched by the feet of Man, in shadows unspoiled by the fires of Right.”
Shadows have been linked to corruption, demons and dark desires in the DA setting. Even Flemeth use the allegory a few times.
The Shadow Goddess who caused the Alamarri to cross the Frostback mountains is a legend that pre-date the Chantry too. She might have lived in the Arbor Wilds, it fit the geographic disposition and the story. On is side fire has been linked to dragons(and destruction by affiliation), the sun (even pre-Chantry, see elven God of Vengeance codex), the Maker and purification (because of Andraste's death).
So "fires of Right" might not be Chantry related (although it sort of fit nicely in the current context), the quote could pre-date the formation of the Chantry and be about the old Inquisition or Drakon's army or Tevinter and its dragons...

I'm glad I saw this come across my tumblr dash before I read it here; I'm pretty sure I would have broken my fingers in my haste to open the link.
Easily laughed for ten straight minutes, though. Fantastic.

Agreed, it almost looks like they're trying to have as many diverse environments as possible. If they have a list of DA2 feedback points to address, a variety of locations would probably be at the top of that list.TristanHawke wrote...
I love the variation of landscapes in the concept art. Hope they show in game screenshots of them soon.
(And I suppose it's no coincidnce that marketing are emphasising all the different landscapes, given the reaction to the last game. The best way to counter the same cave repeated eleven times is by showing off deserts, forests, hills, mountains and plains, I guess.)
Hope we see some screenshots too. Better yet, gameplay videos? :innocent:

EDIT:
I just thought about companions. There'll be 9. So they could show us someone new.

I know I'm likely in the distinct minority on this, but I'd really wish they didn't show us companions at ALL. It ruins some of the experience for me when I know every single person I meet will/won't join the party ahead of time.
Those who knew that Jorveth and Rory weren't companions for DA:O likely didn't place much emphasis on them, but someone who didn't know might have attached onto them and their fairly detailed back stories, making their deaths that much more gruesome. Similarly, knowing Zevran was a recruit when you first see him being hired to kill you and later when you capture and get the chance to kill him before even waking him up can be viewed very differently than if you didn't have that foreknowledge.
It is for this reason I go dark before a game, particularly a Bioware game, I am interested in comes out. I HATE having companions revealed. So I'd really like if they waited a lot later into 2014 before they start revealing.

While I'm interested in companions, I agree that it'd be nice to not know every single one. I'm kind off hoping they just stick with the ones we've already seen (which would be Cassandra, Varric, and Vivienne).
See, they have revealed a lot more than that. We have the crazy looking female elf, the Magister-esque male elf, the grizzled human vet/possibly Grey Warden and possibly others revealed in some of the revealed art. No warning, no spoiler notice - just posted about like knowing these people are going to be major players in the story (if not implicitly confirming them as companions) REALLY irks me.
Give people a notice that story into is coming out. Especially for those of us who want to hear about gameplay features alone and don't want any story spoiled. If I have to go dark now to avoid ruining story, then I probably won't even consider buying the game, since I have too many question marks about their systems. And if I have to get story spoiled to find out that information, I'm also likely to not buy the game, simply because, again, the story spoiling (even the foreknowledge of who is going to be in my party) is a big turn off.
Again, I know I'm in the minority on that, but I really wish they had a better way of either labeling or controlling story content versus systems one.

To each their own, I guess.
I will say that as much as they did let us know about companions before DA2 came out, I didn't feel like I knew that much about them. I mean, I knew the basic bits, but getting to know them while playing was where the real richness came in. Aveline, for instance. I was fairly neutral on her character pre-launch, but she ended up being my favorite companion in the game, and I consider my relationship with her more interesting than any of the actual romances.
