I still tend to kill him since I can't think of a good role-playing reason not to. We have no reason to trust him and no lookout to make sure he doesn't kill us in our sleep or any other times.wtfman99 wrote...

I just thought about companions. There'll be 9. So they could show us someone new.
I know I'm likely in the distinct minority on this, but I'd really wish they didn't show us companions at ALL. It ruins some of the experience for me when I know every single person I meet will/won't join the party ahead of time.
Those who knew that Jorveth and Rory weren't companions for DA:O likely didn't place much emphasis on them, but someone who didn't know might have attached onto them and their fairly detailed back stories, making their deaths that much more gruesome. Similarly, knowing Zevran was a recruit when you first see him being hired to kill you and later when you capture and get the chance to kill him before even waking him up can be viewed very differently than if you didn't have that foreknowledge.
It is for this reason I go dark before a game, particularly a Bioware game, I am interested in comes out. I HATE having companions revealed. So I'd really like if they waited a lot later into 2014 before they start revealing.
i ended up killing zevran my first play through lol

I've listened to it, actually. They said he was a character in the game, yes. But a companion -- no, they didn't say that.VanguardMaster19 wrote...

Is this the guy some of you are referring to as the Iron Bull? I don't want the thread to go off-topic, but I read some of you talking about unconfirmed companions/followers and it was something I noticed a few months ago.
Cheers.
P.S: There's a hooded character too, but it may be the Inquisitor.
2nd P.S. : thanks for the clarification, I had no idea who the Iron Bull was. I've only played Origins and all its DLC.

There was a woman (an archer, I think), which might be Sera, a female elf that appeared in the leaked survey.

This is an official Game Informer video interview with several Bioware developers, it's called "The Combat of Dragon Age Inquisition" (I'm sure many have already watched it), BUT I'd suggest you freeze and enlarge the screen at 1:19. That's a follower that wasn't part of the Cassandra-Varric-Vivienne "trifecta".

Nice catch! I totally missed that when they first showed the video.
Hard to tell, but I reckcon the other companion is the Grey Warden that's been popping up in a lot of concept art. Some people have guessed that he is Stroud from DA2, since that character seemed to be heading to Orlais at the end of the second game, but it's impossible to say at this point.
(Here he is nearly two years ago in April 2012, in a blog post about armour customisation in the next game)

Also, the Iron Bull is a one-eyed qunari mercenary character - here's some concept art that Matt Rhodes posted on his blog.

If you go to the Dragon Age: Inquisition official website and check the concept art picture used as a banner for the Media section, there're 2 characters with armor (plus the inquisitor and Vivienne) and one looks like he's wearing something close to a templar armor. http://www.dragonage.com
i've been looking at that picture too and as far as i can see, it seems there is the Inquisitor, Vivienne then possibly a bald elf mage and lastly a warrior in platemail armor. Now i can't really tell if it is from templars, orlais or just plain platemail but what is that warriors weapon of choice? (can't see any weapon on him except something sticking out from his right hand)

Some players claim they don't trust this character or that character..didn't trust Zev so they killed him, didn't trust Morrigan so they refused the DR.
They wasted opportunities imo.
I want to know who the companions are.:innocent:

I agree.Though I'd say that Cassandra and Varric will be forced on the player at least at the start of the game.ElitePinecone wrote...
It might be a situation where you can accept or deny his help after a confrontation, sort of like Zevran. Optional companions have been in the last two DA games, and David did say in the past (I can't find the link now) that many of Inquisition's characters could have joined/left the party along the course of the game.

If it's Cassandra that has the idea of founding a new Inquisition to combat the Veil tears (since it seems unlikely that our character, especially an elf or qunari, would know enough about Thedas history to have that idea on their own?), they might even be the first characters we meet at the start of the game.
