It's pretty exhausting trying to write something tied to an IP while working in that IP.
Oddly enough, I haven't bought any of the DA-related novels yet. I've heard good things, and I know the plot outlines for them, but none of them really seemed to grab me. "The Masked Empire" on the other hand I'm going to get. It seems the most intriguing...

Asunder is worth it. Trust me. Plus some of the events correspond to what happens in the Masked Empire.Hrungr wrote...

Not making fun of Darrah of course.Just don't see the attraction for such a niche audience.
You know that Twilight, The Hunger Games and Harry Potter are wildly successful, right?
For young folks.
For the companies producing that content. Those franchises are wildly successful financially.
I didn't mention Harry Potter by the way. You just did.
Because it's a young adult franchise that is successful and illustrates my point. Young adult franchises hold huge appeal.

Maybe Iron Bull is just a temporary companion.
We know that we have 9 companions, nothing was said about temporary characters, at least I don't remember.
Even the 9 companions can be lost through the game. We don't know.
Nine characters are recruitable, but this doesn't mean that they will always be with us the whole game.
maybe it's max 9 at a time, like after X leaves, we recruit Y
This sort of happened in DA2, with Bethany/Carver and then we recruited Sebastian. (However it'll probably be done a little bit better, cuz he seemed very added-in last minute)

One of the significant characters in DA:I supposedly comes from Asunder, too, so it could be useful as backstory.

We’ve already said publicly that someone from Asunder will appear in DAI, just not whom.

Mark Darrah @BioMarkDarrah
At some point I really want to work on a young adult IP. Dragon Age will never be that IP. Nor should it
FFVII remake ? Rotfl.
Gee what's the hot stuff now ?
An rpg version of the Hunger Games ?
An rpg version of Twilight/New Dawn ?
An rpg version of Pretty Little Liars ?
Not making fun of Darrah of course.Just don't see the attraction for such a niche audience.
And those, in your mind, are the only possible options for young adult literature? I think that's rather sad if it is (not making fun of you or anything, but it is).
Just to broaden your horizons here's a list to recommended young adult fiction of the previous year (2013, courtesy of ALA): http://www.ala.org/yalsa/bfya/2013list

That's some sad news
I really like all his DA novels!
Really ?
I guess it's up to Patrick then.
Well good luck Patrick.
Hope the Masked Empire does well.
I assume we'll see Lambert in DAI.<_<

If we do see him in DAI, maybe someone's wearing his "attire".
The "suit" might be a bit larger than what's he's accostumed though.

Thank you Mr. Laidlaw, and everyone else with the Chirstmas Build filing bugs! And Maker bless the QA team! Zenbry wants a nice clean game.
Anyways. Thank you!

Not necessarily.
He disappeared in Asunder.
No proof he's dead. shrugs.:innocent:

Wasn't Lambert killed by Cole? I thought that was the implication of the ending, unless it was a trick or something?
