I don't entirely understand insane North American seasons, but isn't December the start of winter?
Winter officially starts with the winter solstice, December 21 (which I will assume is the summer solstice for the southern hemisphere). Other than that, I'm pretty sure the Northern Hemisphere as a whole has winter starting in December.

I guess that means "Fall" actually extends right up to the end of the year.

Can someone ask the devs whether we will get the combat/conversation/status logs back for DA:I? I made a thread about it but I'm not sure they saw it since Allan and David don't frequent the forums much nowadays.

Oh. My mistake. Seasons start on the first of the month in Australia, so the changeover to summer is on December 1.

Yes technically in Edmonton up to Dec 20th is still fall.

I wanted to point out that they have also said Q3 for a release date. The third financial quarter goes from July 1st to September 30th. So my hope is the end of September.

Not all fiscal years start in January, many start in April so 3rd quarter could be Oct, nov, Dec.

The Q3 2014 begins on Tuesday, July 1and ends on Tuesday, September 30.
But I would not talk about release date in my opinion. Not now at least...We should all wait till E3.

The editors will get us a version to look at over the next few weeks. We filmed 5 so the release will be spread out.

Yeah, EA's fiscal year starts from April 1. So fiscal Q3 is the calendar months October, November and December.Beerfish wrote...

Of course, very often people don't distinguish which one they mean... so it's incredibly easy to get confused between fiscal Q3 and calendar Q3.
For example, fiscal Q3 this year is the third quarter of fiscal year 2015, but it's still in calendar year 2014. EA's business side and investor statements will talk about the game coming out in fiscal Q3 '15, which can look alarming unless it's made clear that they're not talking about *calendar* 2015.

I totally get you and plan to do the same thing, and everyone I know thinks I'm a lunatic, hence my hanging out on the BSN.TristanHawke wrote...

I'm sure I've seen a "2014 Q3" release date, which would be July - September. September is generally regarded as the beginning of Fall (regardless of the technical Autumnal Equinox), but I'm probably just grasping at straws with wishful thinking. A holiday release - probably around Thanksgiving - makes more sense.
Edit: I just saw the postings above which seem to indicate I'm incorrect about Q3 being July - September.

I think it was in one of the trailers or maybe the PAX demo.MichaelStJohn90068 wrote...

But yeah, Q3 is July-September on the calendar. In fact, if they're specifying it's *2014* Q3 then it must be July-September, because EA have already finished their fiscal 2014 Q3 (it was October to December 2013).
I'd guess when studios are talking to the public they'd be using calendar dates, which makes July-September more likely, but apparently northern hemisphere "Fall" starts in September and ends in December.
So: everything is still confusing.
