Not all fiscal years start in January, many start in April so 3rd quarter could be Oct, nov, Dec.

The Q3 2014 begins on Tuesday, July 1and ends on Tuesday, September 30.

But I would not talk about release date in my opinion. Not now at least...We should all wait till E3.

According to who.  It depends on whether you are using calendar year or fiscal year.  It BioWare and EA have a fiscal year starting in April that chagnes things.  (The fiscal year for my employer starts in April.)

Ok I'm not going to copy and paste them all but can we just talk about how freaking awesome it is that all these devs, namely Epler and Gaider both have and love their cats? Their cat tweets always crack me up.:D:wub: It just sort of puts into perspective that they are human too and I appreciate the little tibits of insight into their daily lives. Because cats are effing awesome.

I think DAI will be released in October 2014, because for the past 4 years October is the month EA releases a AAA shooter alternating between MoH and BF, now EA confirmed that they will not release anymore MoH games, and they confirmed there will not be a BF game in 2014, which means they need a AAA game to keep the cash flow going, and that game I believe is DAI.

An October release would also put them right in the right place for the holiday market too.

That Luke had to point out I'd essentially described a character as "silent but deadly" is a clear indicator I need a vacation. #WritersPit

I just want to know the release date so I can book a week off work for it... Yes I'm serious :P

Me too! Image IPB

Also, I'm hoping that it releases riiight about the time my husband takes off for hunting season. Already told him I won't be going with in 2014....hoping that it's right around hunting season so that the kid is at grandparents house for a week, and I will be home by myself....

otherwise I'll may be taking a week off from work, AND getting a hotel for that week.

Thakfully my husband is understanding.

Dragon Age: Retribution: The Escapist just put up this "Pick Your Own Path" (Web) Adventure.

Played a little of it, but... didn't find it particularly interesting. :?

Well I'm glad someone's enjoying it. It just couldn't hold my interest after the first 20-ish choices.

It's just... kinda boring. *shrug*

Here's a new concept pic of Fenris by Matt Rhodes, the idea being taking another stab at his design after seeing how he was portrayed "in game".

Image IPB

Fenris take 2.

Some time ago I decided to stop redesigning other peoples stuff (like my reboot cast for example). It’s so much fun, but so is shooting fish in a barrel (for people I probably don’t want in my life).

It’s easy to design a character after you’ve seen their whole story arc play out, witnessed the nuances of writing, acting, animation, even their contribution to the overall atmosphere of the final product. For us, character design is done in the dark. We have descriptions, plans, and vague gestures, all of which will change, many of which will change BECAUSE of what we design.

So, to me it doesn’t feel like a “sporting chance” to redesign someone else’s finished character. They couldn’t see what you see now. They didn’t know that twist was planned, or that they’d get an extra season, or that marketing would favor an unexpected character.

But just for fun I’ll take a swing at our own stuff.

Given a chance to take another pass at Fenris, I would suggest something like this. Chunkier, bald, more of a warrior, with more Tevinter motifs (which we hadn’t yet established during DA2).

A fan did this on their own time, so I hate to criticize, but the endings felt like different flavors of nihilism, which seems very unfair since, y know, a fan did this on their spare time and having choices at all is a big thing. Also it so etimes feels like you are very incompetent compared to your powerful companions, but it's dragon age people always prefer the companions. The fade bit at least was incredibly clever.

The more I look at that Fenris redesign the more I like it. I miss the hair, but that's a minor thing. It's interesting that the tattoos look more like what a Tevinter magister would use (dragon-like) rather than the vallaslin-like markings. The Tevinter clothes are *really* nice and the solid look fits a warrior. I always imagined that Fenris would be considered big and intimidating among elves, and this gives that off more. And I like that his face is still recognizable even with all the changes. Expression is perfect.
