Romances: totally happening, totally optional, just like before. That's all needs be said. #worrynot

Aaryn Flynn@AarynFlynn: Dragon Age without romances is like BF4 without bullets MT "@Mike_Laidlaw: Romances: totally happening, totally optional. #worrynot”

LOL, who would think that there will be no romances in DA: I? That's just impossible. Some people don't have a brain . It's only optional.

A clever analogy, but I wonder if the BF4 fandom was quite so desperate to find out what sorts of bullets they could use in the upcoming game.

Some of the BF4 fans are pretty hardcore about their gun porn before a game comes out, actually. And I say that endearingly (I don't wanna get shot!).

Given the amount of DA fans focused much more on the MALE romance options than the female ones, I think you may have the wrong gender there.

Patrick Weekes ‏@PatrickWeekes:
Should write Bio-Blog piece someday about what I did on one char's speaking style. Based on writing room reactions, may actually be crazy.

It took me a whole five minutes to realize that @SherylChee's suggestion of calling a location "the Mourning Wood" was not serious. So sad.

I'm sure the makers of Fable 3 would cast an angry glance or two at them if they did...

This post is so wonderfully meta. I don't know if that was intentional or not.

On a discussion of the character Theoden from Lord of the Rings:

Mary Kirby ‏@BioMaryKirby
@Joanna_Berry @Mike_Laidlaw I watched the "Where is the horse and the rider?" scene seven hundred times while writing Loghain in DAO.

That's pretty cool :)

...I don't get it.

I mean, based on the context of the particular linked Twitter conversation. I don't get how Patrick is writing a male LI from that.

I think it's an assumption based on Patrick having written a male follower...

It was intended. But also satirical. After all - gun porn about a game designed around using guns (or other weapons) as the primary part to the gameplay is appropriate, if not a tad fanatical. Having the same fervor about romances, which are optional side content for companions whose sole gameplay purpose is to provide support in combat seems, to me, to be placing that same fanatical focus on content/gameplay that is totally ancillary to the game itself.

Which is is why it is so odd.
