@azarhal: we don't know yet if Iron Bull is a companion. Even if he is, he might have written another one. Though I'm doubtful of this. Doesn't anyone know who are the other writers other than those three, Sheryl Chee and Lukas Kristjanson?

That would be a nightmare

Unkillable doesn't mean that he's not dismissable. If he's a companion, I'm sure you can at least send him off.Wothen wrote...

Patrick mentioned writing a male follower a while back. It doesn't mean it is Iron Bull (whom he also wrote).

It was intended. But also satirical. After all - gun porn about a game designed around using guns (or other weapons) as the primary part to the gameplay is appropriate, if not a tad fanatical. Having the same fervor about romances, which are optional side content for companions whose sole gameplay purpose is to provide support in combat seems, to me, to be placing that same fanatical focus on content/gameplay that is totally ancillary to the game itself.
Which is is why it is so odd.
A. You totally win 1 internets.
B. I agree overall (though I actually think romantic subplots, rather than necessarily what Bioware terms "romances", are a good addition to RPGs).

Could it be Varric? I think (but I'm not sure) that Mary or Sheryl had the Grey Warden. Unless Patrick also wrote Dorian-or-whatever-his-name-is-now-if-he's-even-still-in-the-game.azarhal wrote...

Jennifer Hepler also wrote someone, i think. And there's a writer called Brianne who I think also worked on ME3.

David Gaider mentioned having to do a complete character re-write of one that wasn't personally his, I believe (if I remember rightly), so it's possible he was referring to Jennifer Hepler's character.

If I recall correctly, Jennifer Hepler was Cullen's DA2 writer. If he's in, I would imagine she was first pick to write him.

Huh, I could have sworn he said something to that affect or that it was a third character seperate from the other two he's mentioned having written.
*scratches chin*
Ah well, my mistake if that's the case.

User@BioMarkDarrah Ah, sorry, I meant for the different races or classes! Inquisitor backstory will influence my decision greatly.

.@user ah, good question.
It would spoil some early game stuff.
What do you think @Mike_Laidlaw ?

GDC is in March. I actually forgot about this, but apparently studios do show off projects there.
(That was where EA revealed Battlefield 4 last year, with gameplay footage.)

Considering the tweet exchange, it's Laidlaw that dropped something on the writers, though it's not necessarily bad, since Mike said it could be fun.

[snip] Nah, I dropped a thing on the writers, but I don't think it was overly arduous, and it could be fun.
^ Nothing to get paranoid about
I actually made a twitter account to ask if he was ok...<_<

okay..well that's cool news. although, I don't quite understand how a general backstory for an Inquisitor would spoil early game stuff?
Maybe these backstories aren't as general as I imagine?
