I know about the comic book, and Alistair trailing after Maric, but he didn't find him yet, or get the answer yet

There's still some question about who his mother was (maybe), but you apparently aren't as familiar with the comics as you think you are. So if you're interested in finding out more about Alistair and Maric, you might want to check them out (or at least check out some plot summaries).

Ah, thanks. I had read a bit about the Maric trail, prison, new[old friend] Arishok encounter, the Flemeth[relative] and dragon[blood] thing, the Titus Magister thing, but had not found the end of it! Poor Maric. Good to know, so thanks. Still, the mother, and Alistair, and 'me'.  Heh... important to me!

A question if i may, are mounts a summon or more like a NPC? (do they remain in the world/same place after dismounting them?)

Mike Laidlaw ‏@Mike_Laidlaw:
NPC currently.

- Hmm.... interesting. I wondered how they were going to handle it. I figured it'd be about 50/50 they'd go either way.

The inevitable follow up - will mount NPCs be romanceable?!

Someone on BSN is sure to demand it.

They have been answering a lot of questions on Twitter these last few days. Maybe it's part of the lead up to the Dev diaries?

glad i got my question answered, i was wondering if they'd work like dog from DA2 (a summon) or be more like an assassin creed's horse (a NPC).

i meant in general, but hey even on twitter I'm sure there are some Devs who will hardly respond to questions and save the kind of information that Bioware does sometimes give over things like twitter for like Q&A sessions and events or press releases, but that's just my opinion.

Fair enough... but if you look at the number of DA tweets that someone like Mark Darrah or Mike Laidlaw has done as a ratio to BSN posts, you'd have a limit that becomes zero as it approaches infinity.

Given how I've seen Devs treated here (by some) it's hardly surprising. As a matter of fact, I encourage them to "Look, but don't touch." these boards.

That said, Twitter and Tumblr are probably more manageable formats and their posts wind up on BSN in minutes anyway...

It was a good question... but it does raise some other questions though.

Are mounts killable?
Do they recover like Companions - threshold healing and requiring resources to fully recover?
Will mounts follow us into the Deep Roads?
Will it limit certain kinds of "connecting-tunnel-between-two-regions" level design?
Will mounts level up?
Will they have their own ability trees?

Claudia Black and Brian Bloom did not start recording lines until a few days ago and their characters are important , hell Varric is a companion! They will probably call Steve Valentine later in development.

They never said that it was the first time in the studio though. I heard Gaider talking about Kate Mulgrew recording Flemeth early last year, and Claudia as well.

Yeah. Some voice actors were doing auditions for roles and recording some things in May 2012 - that's almost two years ago.

All that old stuff was probably scrapped by now. They add another auditions round last Fall and according to Gaider, they blow up the plots a few times last year which means lost of redoing at all levels.

Honestly I'm hoping we get one horse (Perhaps from a pool of aesthetic choices) near the beginning and get to name it, something to stick by us through the game.

I like the idea of having a trusty steed.  I'd take that over a new Mabari even without combat usage if I had to.

So long as the mount has personality, that it's a character in it's own right, then I'd be happy to have one stick through with us throughout the game. But it's just a mount, then I'd prefer to a wider range of mounts and we could continually get better and better ones as you went through the game.

Speaking of which...

User:
Can we expect several types of mounts? (like f.e. trained Wyvern, Nugs for the Dwarves, etc) Or do we only get horses?

Mike Laidlaw ‏@Mike_Laidlaw:
Time will tell. Only horses are confirmed currently.

Well, that's what I was thinking of, having interactions with it like the Mabari in DAO and DA2 maybe even.  Perhaps some offhand comments from lazy grooms in the keep about getting kicked and the like.

I really like Cassandra's look, that appearance is... striking. Appropriately aggressive, too, given her personality and temperament.

And the amount of thought that went into her character design is quite impressive.

Can I ask if there's a chance for a Mac version of Inquisition like there was with Origins and 2?

Mike Laidlaw ‏@Mike_Laidlaw:
Not at the same time. It's possible afterwards, but I'm not sure.

One thing to keep in mind is that we don't really know what the volume is of tweets directed at an individual dev, as opposed to posts on the BSN. I myself would imagine Twitter is a little more manageable. Either way, it seems to vary from person to person, and I don't think there's anything wrong with that. Someone like Mark might tweet more, whereas David (when he feels like answering questions or clarifying things) frequently posts here. Either way, I'd say that the BioDevs in general interact with the community -- including on the BSN -- more than many other developers.

This is really good - between both Matt and Casper in this post they really give a sense that character design is truly in-depth for DAI; not just making characters look pretty for the sake of it. I'm impressed, plus a later edit that should mean that interacting with many chracters throughout should be a really cool experience.
