Never really noticed this concept art before, but you can clearly see Quizzy, Cassandra, and Varric!

I hope we get at least one trailer where they show off the range of racial/class/gender options though - it'd be a shame if the overwhelming image of the game is that the Inquisitor is a male warrior again.

I've seen it and used it before, it's an image from WOT that shows us being in the fade and meeting those orange spirt things.

I'm intrigued by the "spiri"t behind Cassandra.

@davidgaider As I recall, I was responsible for last version of Barbarian and a VERY Harry-Potter-ish Mage: http://tmblr.co/ZIsNnt16ynNPD
David Gaider @davidgaider:
@PatrickWeekes Did you do the last Barbarian version? That rings a bell. Still regretted the cut--that was fun, as I recall.
Patrick Weekes @PatrickWeekes:
@davidgaider I recall writing a TERRIBLE first draft that broke all kinds of lore, and the a total rewrite that lasted 'til the art cut.
David Gaider @davidgaider:
@PatrickWeekes I do remember the first draft.

You know it's funny, when I started my file (as well as my more recent, actually-going-to-finish-it file) I really wished there was a Human Commoner sort, because that kind of setting really resonates with me. But reading that blog post, yeah, I get it.

Huh. Learned some DA ancient history tonight. Predates my involvement by some margin.
What a series...
Aaryn Flynn@AarynFlynn: @hanlsp IP ancient history, or game development / project ancient history? If it's the latter, there be skeletons in that closet...

It kind of sucks that the Avaar-barbarian Origin got cut. I hadn't even known it existed until I read Gaider's post, but ever since I started reading more deeply into the lore of Thedas I've wanted to play as an Avaar (Avaarian?), or at least see them play a larger role (other than Kell from The Calling).eluvianix wrote...

Regarding the Cut Origins.
Also, I know a lot of people think the human Trevelyan character is going to be a noble, but wouldn't it be cool if they were from an Avaar tribe or something? I know it's kind of far-fetched, but it would still be interesting and something that they haven't done before.

Caught up on @davidgaider's tumblr. (http://dgaider.tumblr.com/ ) SO MANY fan notes and art new to me. Thank you to everyone who makes them.
User:
I think we're supposed to ask you about something involving rewrites and Jade Empire. Care to share?
Mike Laidlaw @Mike_Laidlaw:
Oh. THAT.
Mike Laidlaw @Mike_Laidlaw:
The part with the jade fox and the cannibals? That used to be the start of JE, the villan was Gao and she was a tiger.
Mike Laidlaw @Mike_Laidlaw:
It was constantly revised and moved and revamped and she was suddenly a fox and the forest was up a mountain and then....

It would be cool, though the impression I got from that Avvar character in The Calling (I think he was Avvar) was that their more of a "Tom, son of Tim, son of Ted" type people more than surnames.ShallowChasm wrote...

Ah, yes, you're right. I just refreshed my memory by checking up on the wiki for Kell's full name and it's "Kell ap Morgan." Sounds a bit more tribal (which is to be expected). Hopefully we'll get to see a bit more of the Avaars in Inquisition, at least!
