That maybe the case and it reminds me of a certain song with those words ( it was the first thing that popped into my head, am I the only who thought this ) and it would make sense especially with the fact they don't really care about headcanon, guess we'll have to wait and see though I could certainly be wrong.

Hmm is it the companion he's writing, who seems to have pretty outgoing personality if it is indeed the blonde elf who he's writing, if so I think I might really like this character.

We don't know the dev diaries will reveal much of the info we're expecting. I wouldn't really expect it to delve into companions or story details. Maybe more mechanical info will come from the diaries. I could be completely wrong though!

Either way, it's exciting to know PAX East is soon and Bioware will likely have a big presense there.

That's actually what I'm more interested in than story and companion details anyway since the majority of the time in the game'll take place roamining around doing quests, combat, etc.  It's also what ultimately turned me off of DAII, so coming up with a system that'll entertain me there is a really important part for me enjoying DA:I.  .......or they could just copy Dragon's Dogma's system.

As far as I know, it's 9 (Official site). But since DAO, all BW games had at least one dlc companion, so 10 is a possibility.

The suprise meatballs was a inside joke that was explained already. So its 9 companions like the site says. But who knows, a day 1 DLC character does seem the standard MO for Bioware nowadays.

It'd depend if the 9 companions are equally divided in the three classes.

Haven't one class parties been possible for a while? I rolled with Rogue!Hawke, Isabela, Varric, Sebastian all the time. And during Act 1, you can do Warrior!Hawke, Aveline, Fenris, Carver, or Mage!Hawke, Bethany, Merrill, Anders.

DragonKingReborn probably meant that you can roll an all-class party with every class (Due to the number of companions it wasn't possible in previous games).

Absolutely, in Origins you could have all warrior parties with the vanilla game, as well. But it was only warriors. In Awakening you could have a max of 3 from one class at a time. You're right that you could have an all rogue party in DA2, but all Mage/warrior was not possible. If Hawke was a Mage, Bethany died in the prologue, same with carver if Hawke was a warrior/rogue.

And yes, it will depend on if the nine are evenly split, just saying that until it's confirmed one way or another, it is possible. Don't know that I'd play that way, but I know some people would.

It also assumes that none of the companions are mutually exclusive, like Mira and Hanhar in kotor2 (yes I know not a Bioware game, just an example).

9 in party and 10 is from DLC.

The term surprise meatballs was explained, but that doesn't mean it wasn't one of the companions. 

I'd say that still makes the case for ten companions, it just has the explanation of how surprise meatballs are different than regular meatballs - possibly meaning a companion that appears as one thing and turns out to be something completely different.

Isn't that guy Cole something that seems human but at the same time he is something else? That might be him.
