We'll have to see, but those kind of "unlocked" dialogue options might not exist in Inquisition. For all we know, some sort of Persuasion type skill has been reintroduced to the game. I like the tone icons as way to understand what my character is about to say (and how they'll say it). Since dominant tone has been removed, we will probably not find ourselves marching down one particular path quite as often
I agree, I didn't have a big problem with the icons but the dominant tone and the really inaccurate paraphrasing which lead to some really odd things that we said, and yes there will be a persuasion skill.

I meant the whole dialogue system.
I hope for your sake you are not holding your breath.
I found the icons helpful, and the tone an enjoyable change of pace, but I'm not overly attached to the tone. Judging by what has been said by Mr. Gaider, sounds like they have made some interesting changes to dialogue anyway, so I won't start gnashing my teeth just yet.
Please give me a link, as i tend to find exactly the opposite. The only thing i found is dropping the dominant tone. Everything else i read was saying that they will do conversations "very similar" to DA 2.
It'll be closer to a mix of DAO and DA2, Laidlaw already confirmed that persuasion is making a comeback in the game informer special podcast and will include how to talk to nobility and everything that goes with that, and there are some different skill trees in DAI but we don't know much about that.
The paraphrasing is going to be much more accurate, they got rid of the dominant tone and are using some of the icons like the fist for aggressive, heart for flirting, and the investigate option along with persuasion and whatever else they are putting in nor have we seen it in action fully, only briefly 2 times that didn't show off the icons or anything so it's to early to judge the new wheel when we haven't really seen it in action.
