Maybe she just likes hearts. Or the designers like hearts. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
I was thinking that too. It's an interesting cultural phenomenon that because of the existence of hearts, it must be romantic/love related. I sit back and soak up the sociology!
Heh, as a cultural anthropology student that's effectively what I do. And it's a damn fine excuse to spend a few hours a week around these parts too.

It is also the symbol for the actual heart, the organ/muscle.
Names like Lionheart were not given for nothing.
An example of the heart symbol used:

Let's also not forget that the heart is often a sign of Andrastianism, as the Archon Hesserian is said to have offered Andraste mercy upon seeing her being set on fire and plunging a sword through her heart to save her from the pain. It could very well be this image that Cassandra has on her armor.TsadeeHekate wrote...
The heart as a symbol has more meanings than 'love'. It's also associated with strength, having a strong heart.

Its also possible that the heart is a promient symbol of her family's coat of arms, which would give Cassandra another reason to put hearts on her armor. Think of it as a way to take "the honor of her family" into battle with her.
Though to be honest, I wouldn't be suprised if the artist that draws her just put hearts on her armor in order to soft up a bit the severity of Cassandra's visual tone.

The human heart has had various meanings throughout human history, especially in coat of arms. A typical meaning for a heart would have been "Charity, Sincerity". Both of which are chivalric virtues, hence why knights and perhaps Cassandra would wear hearts.

^ yup for the bolded part. I tend to believe that the designers of the armor did their homework.

I didn't realize Gaider is gay or I'm totally misreading it?
It's super cool though.
He is? I thought he was married. To a woman. Huh. Maybe I'm confusing him with another Dev.
My recollection is that he is or was married ... to a woman.
As I recall, he posted in a topic many years ago (2009?) that he and his female wife were in an open marriage.
I have no idea what the actual topic was about ...

I've known David Gaider was gay for a while now. He went to GaymerX and was open about his sexuality there. Besides we shouldn't be discussing his personal life. It's none of our business.
Same here. It's been fairly public knowledge for at least a year or two. Not a new development.

btw, Master Gaider explaned the new dialogue wheel on this page:

if anyone is interested =)
Adding my thanks, as well.
What I'm most excited about (other than the removal of dominant tone, which we already knew) is that the new "reaction wheel" will not contain the same emotions every time and that a Stoic option will always be included. It's nice to know that my character will have the option of not reacting to something that doesn't affect her emotionally. I also like the removal of the alternate tone arrangement because that honestly never made sense to me.
Cautious optimism restored!
