Or a companion reveal.
Or anything.
I'll even take a nug!
Is detail on the collector's editions the sort of thing they even reveal in person or in a dev diary? Or does it just 'appear' when they announce that there will, in fact, be a collector's edition?
Because let's face it, I'm going to need lots of warning on how much to save up for, what with my upcoming purchase of an XB1 as well...

I'd be happy with a dev letting it slip that an unannounced companion's first name contains the letter [insert letter here, preferably an 'e']. That'd keep a lot of folk speculating for a day or two at least.
I'd be cool with anything that is revealed next week to be honest. For some reason the waiting this time around is more bearable than the wait in 2013 for me. Not to say I don't appreciate any scrap of information they decide to give us. I just sit here patiently waiting for the Fall.

It's the sort of thing that's generally done in a blog post or on the website, I think.
Every company/publisher is different. Some companies may just announce a release window (example, Holiday 2014) only. But when a date is closer to realization, they may give an exact date with details of pre-order offers or collector editions.
Companies may hold a special press preview and issue an embargo and when that embargo is lifted, then all the information is dumped (release date, pre-order offers, etc.) Or maybe a retailer will request a specific pre-order bonus.
Lots of planning that is involved for sure.

With the image they released (likely Paragon Orseck Garal) my guess is that they're going to show off (well, tease more likely...) one of the locales in the game.
Kal-Sharok perhaps...?

That is so cute. ![]()
Mary Kirby@BioMaryKirby: And now for a change of pace, @SherylChee and @Sylvf1 discuss eyelashes. "Yeah, he has the eyelashes of an ANGEL!" #WritersPit
OMG! Do we get eyelash slider?! OMG!
Now my male chars will look like ANGELS! I always wanted it! ![]()
*hopes for eyelash slider pitifully*
Pre-order info and a release date would be wonderful. It would probably feel more real to me that DAI is actually coming out this year if a release date is, well, released. Though the release date is probably going to be revealed at the end of a new trailer... I wonder if we'll get one before E3?
Eyelash slider? Doesn't really matter to me, I just hope the eyelashes won't look like spider legs.
Let's just hope it is something we don't already know.
I just remembered next week is my birthday... Come on Bioware give us something juicy. ![]()
OMFG that is cute.
Eyelash sliders? Hahah, as long as there are eyelashes I'm good. In ME3, where the faces are supposed to be super realistic, it was extrememely odd to see characters without eyelashes, Kaidan especially.

Oooh ... I always thought he looked a bit odd, but never could put my finger on why. Everything makes sense now! ![]()

Haha I've played that game so many times and I never noticed that either. Probably because I always killed Kaiden off in the first game. Did all the characters lack eyelashes?

Kaidan burned his eyelashes, he was juggling 6 blowtorches while running from a grizzly bear riding a nuclear powered bicycle called Igor (the bycicle, not the bear) when he tripped over JJ Abrams's lost creativity

No, most characters had eyelashes, if only barely visible. But Kaidan lacked them entirely. Once you notice it, you can't stop, hahah.
Damn you people, I hadn't noticed.
Whoops >.>
*Goes to play Mass Effect on the nearest console to stare at Kaidan's missing eyelashes*
Whoa! How did we miss that?
In other news, I myself am anxious to see what they have in store for us in the next week. Been staring at the pic Flynn was kind enough to tease us with and coming up with all sorts of theories; each as unlikely as the last.
I'll take pre-order info over a companion reveal. Unless that pre-order info is that there will be a DLC companion.
DA:O and DA2 both had DLC characters, Mass 3 had one and Mass 2 had two. I would be astonished if DA:I didn't have one as well. So, perhaps better to prepare yourself for the inevitable, yes?
Some days, game development is a wonderful, rewarding process. And some days, you want to start a lot of small fires. #toolswoes
