I don't have a problem with BEM being bald though. ![]()

It has stopped them, BF4 has no mods months after release.

Battlefield 4 is also almost entirely multiplayer. Mutliplayer that specifically prevents modification of game files through anti-cheating programs. And nobody gives enough of a crap about BF4's single player to modify it.
The games are simply not equivalent.
Sid Meier's Pirates! uses the Gamebryo engine but I've never heard of mods for it. By your logic, Fallout 3 and Oblivion ought not to have been moddable because they also use Gamebryo.

They've always found a way to mod supposedy unmoddable games, I'm sure they'll manage to mod DAI as well. Then again, I'm no modder, so what do I know. ![]()

Skyrim had a nexus site and mods almost as soon as it came out, long before the toolkit was made public. And if we go back in (BioWare) history to the infinity engine, it was also considered unmoddable at first, but they still made mods for it, and then along came the fan-made WeiDU which made modding infinity games that much easier. (Note to self: you are OLD!)
Now, I'm not saying we'll get to see mods as elaborate as the ones for DAO, or even for DA2, but I imagine at least textures will appear (like they did for the ME games), and maybe some models as well.
EDIT: And I understand that Overhaul games actually used WeiDU when they developed BGEE and BG2EE.

BF4 has no mods because even after 6 months nobody found out how to do a simple reskin, not because there is nobody interested in doing them. The official forum for the game is full of people requesting mod support (some thread started last week over this even). Also, seems like you never played a multiplayer FPS games, fan made maps are extremely popular.
Also, Sid Meier's Pirates! do have mods, despite not having any editor, took me a few seconds to find a website dedicated to them.

I'm not sure how I feel about the elf mage bald.... maybe a hat would liven things up?
Though Gaider is right to tell us not to judge a book by it's cover. Remember when Fenris images and concepts first came out? WE ALL THOUGHT HE WAS A MAGE. HAH! The writers were all probably rolling over on the floor laughing.
When I first saw Fenris, it was this image:
I shouted first: Damn, I hope he's a guy! And two: I hope to god we can romance him. For some reason I thought he looked too pretty to be a guy ![]()

Probably, maybe after you "discover" a location.

Early on, I was speculating that horses might function that way rather than being ridable. Say, click on the horse and the map of selectable locations pops up. Of course, now we know we'll have fully functional mounts. With these large areas, fast travel might become necessary.I'm also wondering if there's going to be fast travel in the game. If there's fast travel in DA2, you can bet your bottom dollar there's fast travel in DAI.

There wasn't, atleast not the way I'm defining fast travel. I mean to get to locations you would otherwise have to walk to through the same area, not transitioning to a different area through the map.If there's fast travel in DA2, you can bet your bottom dollar there's fast travel in DAI.

Possibly. But also possibly only through zones you maintain a presence, or have thoroughly cleared.
Keep in mind the thing they stressed at PAX: Leaving your keeps requires preparation and planning, and being outside them is dangerous. So removing that whole aspect of their design... thrust... in favor of easy travel is not something I'd expect.

I think they could see the advantage in not making backtracking too laborious though.Possibly. But also possibly only through zones you maintain an Inquisitor presence, or have thoroughly cleared.

Yeah. I think the key might end up being backtracking. Maybe they'll only let us fast travel between keeps, and unlocking an area for fast travel requires seizing that area's keep. Speculating, of course.

I wonder because we have situations like Crestwood, where a previously established keep and town is under attack. It would not make sense to allow you to fast travel to these places because there would be issues with the Red Templar siege quest if you did. Mind you... they could just cut off the ability to those areas (or temporarily the entire region) knowing there is a siege quest tied to them.
