I had revelation last night while starting a new Origins playthrough. Morrigan's eyes look just like the eyes of that crazy cat that Blair and Laidlaw commented on on twitter. Perhaps it was a joking way of talking about her shapeshifting skills playing a role in DA3?

Morrigan can transform into grumpy cat's brother? TAKE MY MONEY!

We don't even need to go that far. Just slap a pair of cat ears and a fake tail on her, and we're golden. ;)

...request for DA:3 - Cat Ears hood?

Dragons? For an Age of them, there's been a pretty serious lack of them.

it's all over the freaking place though, and we keep finding more of it.

Also, Mr. Bitey is amazing.  Blows me away every time!

If Mr Bitey is some kind of terrifying hostile monster/creature it's going to be really hard to take it seriously if we know it had such an adorable widdle name at one point in development.

I hope they name him/her Mr Bitey in the game. And that s/he's the main antagonist. And that once you finally see this dreaded creature for yourself during the end battle, it turns out to be a crazed orlesian poodle.

Seriously, you can't really please the "I want an epic enemy!"-crowd. But I doubt you can go wrong with a poodle. It's the safest bet, when you think about it.

I'm curious to see what they've done with the classes when we finally see some gameplay.
Hope we get to see some new ideas applied there, instead of the "back to basics" vibe I've gotten from the supposed merge of Origins with DA II.

Hmm could the dragons be what they were looking at Skyrim for? And not open world stuff?

Recognising that Skyrim's dragons were very popular might be why they're popping up so often in dev teasing, sure. Dr Muzyka did say Bioware were aggressively checking out Skyrim, and I guess it's hard to go wrong with "awesome cinematic dragon battles".

(Though part of me does wonder if dragons would even be as big a part of DA3 if Skyrim hadn't been so wildly successful. Maybe dragons were a big part of Skyrim because DAO was so wildly successful. Who knows?)

I think Skyrim was in development for quite awhile before DA:O came out, actually.

Prepare for ultra-twisting, miscomprehension and mis-leading threads.

Oh, look! "Dragon Age 3 writer vents to gamers" Let's make David more respectable. -.-

I thought it was something new but it was only the excerpt from David Gaider's tumblr piece entitled "On Romances in Games". Great read but the reading the whole thing on tumblr puts things into context.

I honestly liked the dragons better in DA:O than in Skyrim, it made them more epic that there were just a few of them and those were a massive challenge to put down.

In Skyrim, my horse generally picks off a few before his afternoon tea.

These comments, for the first time in a long time, actually has me feeling some genuine excitement for DA3. And not just resigned acceptance.

Still am a little miffed that Twitter is more respected as an online medium for conveying game data (or even spreading dev teasers and rumors), but it is pretty amazing to hear people gush about how excited they are. Spleen saying it was the game he's always wanted to make is...  intriguing.

Epler, yes.

He's the Cut Scene guy.  Obviously none of us can read into his mind, but  when I see that comment of his, the first thing that pops into my head is:  Wonderful, DA3 will be a  hollywood blockbuster-level  cutscene masterpiece.

Which is fine, but for me, I judge a game by how fun it is to play... not watch.

For all of these fun, teasing tidbits we keep getting, I can't decide if Twitter is the best invention ever, or the bane of existence.

I don't know... they're all game players in too, and have their own desires for the games they want to play and make, just as we do. So to say that he is only concerned with his particular area is a bit unfair, I think.

My job title is cinematic designer, true, but my actual duties are a lot more widely varied than just 'make cutscenes'.

In truth, I'm probably the least cinematic-focused of the cinematic design team. A lot of what I've done so far has been way, way outside my traditional wheelhouse - and that's because I am passionate about game design as a whole, not just my field of expertise. Been playing games since I was a wee lad, and I still have my original receipt from a local computer store that's now out of business where I reserved Baldur's Gate at the age of 12 because I was already a giant RPG nerd, brought up on my friend's Gold Box collection.

I haven't made a single cutscene yet. So, read into my excitement what you will, but it has very, very little to do with cinematics. That's not to say I'm not excited about where we're going with those, too, but thus far it's all about the game as a whole.

EDIT: I mean, if you watch my Twitter feed, when I nerd out about games it's almost never 'this game had great cinematics!' It's usually 'oh man the way Dark Souls handled cohesive level design is brilliant'. It's understandable to think that my main focus is cinematics but I spend more time geeking out about design mechanics than I do about shot composition, at least when I play games.

Come on Epler don't sell yourself short, were you not responsible for the hitchcock zoomery in the deep roads expedition?
