Come on Epler don't sell yourself short, were you not responsible for the hitchcock zoomery in the deep roads expedition?

In some small way, I'm -always- responsible for the hitchcock zoom.

Good, I wouldn't want my cinematography-swooning to be misdirected.

Obligatory "hitchcock zoom for DA3 LI"  btw.

You joke, but Michael Bay and Crane Shot have been dating for years now.

George Lucas has been happily married to Shot Reverse Shot for nearly a decade. Three children!

Sad to see him rebound with her after his falling out with Practical Effects.

Just thought I'd leave this here. Ran across it today:

So does that mean we're going to get a joke about Kirkwall being too brown?

A subdued colour palette wouldn't fit what we've heard about Orlais.

I guess I don't know the true definition of "Subdued Color Palette" then, because to my 2 eyes, DA2's artstyle was anything but that.

As for Harsh Browns, sure, DA:O was full of it, and I suppose you could say that the majority of Darktown in DA2 was as well. But the latter had to be that way. It was the poor run-down part of the city. A rich vibrant color palette there would have been a theme contradiction..

Thanks for posting this. It's good to know how developers are excited and enthusiastic about frostbite and DA3 in general. Hopefully they'll release a screenshot or two reasonably soon so we could at least have a clue what's all the fuss about.
Yes, I know how Battlefield 3, Need for Speed and Medal of Honor look like in their respective variations of the Engine, but I honestly don't know what to expect for DA3 in that regard.

Still am a little miffed that Twitter is more respected as an online medium for conveying game data (or even spreading dev teasers and rumors), but it is pretty amazing to hear people gush about how excited they are. Spleen saying it was the game he's always wanted to make is...  intriguing.

I can only speak for myself but I would think most of the other dev's would agree, it's just easier.

Especially for little one of things that we might  be seeing at that exact moment that we want to get out.  To do that in the forums would require loading a web browser on my phone, logging in, creating a thread.... ie. to much work.

Twitter I click the app, type, post.

It also why I re-sticked this thread so that no one is left out, big thanks to the community helping filter all our quips and bringing them here

That's REALLY awesome to hear. One of my favorite games in terms of atmosphere and environment is Baten Kaitos, and it's so colorful it can be downright psychedelic at times. (Not that I'd want DA:I to exactly go in that direction because the two series have very different atmosphere, but still.)

That look is fine for JRPGs like Baten Kaitos(which I really enjoyed) but for western, medieval RPGs it just doesn't really fit. It's too jarring. More along the lines of The Witcher 2 would be good for color scale.

I like color when it's appropriate. Enough said. The real world can be very colorful or it can be dull. I liked how Sundermount had that vibrant green everywhere; it made sense.

I did not much care for the strangely flat-looking orange stone in the deep roads. And the red lyrium was a bit much. I think it would have been cooler if it was more dark, and then the veins of red just glared in the darkness dully like embers.

My take on that article was that the environments will be more rich in colour in areas like Orlais were it's vibrant and decadent, but the dark foreboding areas would look more dramatic and atmospheric. *Shrugs*

I would really appreciate it if they were to solve the importing issues before DAI is released; i was very disappointed when I didn't have my mage's boon be reference like it should have in DA2

@Burayan: David Gaider said something about a new import system they're working on, which we'll get more information about later on. If DA3 is indeed for new consoles, there are probably other issues to work around regarding save file transfers and such.

I can't say much for the colour palette yet, naturally, but what I will say is that I LOVE how enthustiastic people at Bioware seem to be about this game. It may not be to my specific tastes when it gets out, but even so I am filled to the brim with respect for the people who are making it.

DA2 got a poor reception, be that fair or not, but the team is not only back on the horse; they're riding it bareback, singing Britney Spears songs, while as naked as the day they were born.

Just in case someone missed this from Mass Effect twitter thread:

Jos Hendriks (ME2&3 developer) is moving to the Dragon Age 3 team.
