Is Dark Souls considered role playing? I only played Demon's Souls, and only for a minute but I thought it was just an action game with "role playing" elements...

 

I have given up on Dark souls, just game mechanics that I can't stand.  Another game with promise but became simply annoying as heck for me and I've shelved it, probably permanently.

Had been playing ME1....they use the term 'scuttlebutt' in game.....I thought it was a nod to that.

It's old navy slang, basically referring to the equivalent of the water cooler, as in the thing you stand and chat around.  Which makes it appropriate for a ship like the Normandy that takes on some naval traditions (but not all.  Hey I got to link to a thread from 2010!) it is a bit of a stretch, but not much of one, to apply to a forum.

Everytime I read "Scuttle" I think about the seagull of the Little Mermaid. He was one of my favourite characters, so that's ok, I suppose.

Wasn't a contest. She simply posted a thread in the BioWare/BSN Help forum asking for ideas. I think she maybe put a link to that thread on her Twitter a few times. Didn't get much interest/attention other than the pro-Scuttlebutters crowd.
