Will The Masked Empire release for Kindle? Thanks.

Patrick Weekes @PatrickWeekes :

Yes, should be simultaneous with print release. :)

User:

Any chance for Elink edtition of Masked Empire? I live in another country and waiting will be soo long.

Patrick Weekes @PatrickWeekes:

Sorry, not sure. I know it is coming on Kindle and other e-formats, though.

Amazon still doesn't have a Kindle version up though...

Because it's not out yet. There's no point in pre-ordering a book for Kindle since you have to download it manually.

All my kindle pre-orders have download automatically. The last one was a while ago, though (pre-ordered a book for my daughter in June for a September release) so perhaps they've changed it since.

Strangely, on Amazon there are 2 different paperback versions available to order, one for $12 and one for $10.

I don't think a Kindle book has ever downloaded automatically on my Kindle. That's weird.

The $12 version is the larger size(8" x 5.5").

No, cause you can preorder it ahead of time, and at midnight on the release date, it will automatically download to your device. It has done that for every single book that I have preordered.

You know it's a good day when @Mike_Laidlaw compares you to Justin Hammer as portrayed in Iron Man 2.

@PatrickWeekes I believe I qualified it by saying that "If Patrick had decided to become a smarmy arms dealer, he would basically be...."

@PatrickWeekes But, thankfully, you have chosen NOT to be a smarmy arms dealer.

@Mike_Laidlaw It's just a side hobby, really.

I imagine Patrick as having a large, secret closet in his home full of talking weapons he's stolen from various SF/F franchises. He's saving them for the coming Genre Wars, to sell at exorbitant prices.

It won't do him much good. Hardliner Jedi, Trekkies, Songbirds, Fremen, Spectres and LOTRies and even sweet Muggles will all look to his closet as evidence he's collaborated with the enemy.

Stoked for The Masked Empire. Is it OK for you to divulge what year it's set in? Kind of a chronology geek.

Patrick Weekes ‏@PatrickWeekes :

Parallel to Asunder, roughly. :)

Łukasz Krawczyk ‏@IlidanDA

@PatrickWeekes So ... DAII -> DA Asunder, DA The Masked Empire (at the same time) -> DAI?

@IlidanDA That looks right to me. :)

I wonder what the hell is wrong with my Kindle? Books I've pre-ordered never download automatically.

Can someone please educate me on what, exactly, a "sprint review" is?

Doesn't Asunder mostly happen before Cassandra interrogates Varric, or am I getting confused? I know Hawke's story more or less ends in 9:37, but the framing plot is a few years after that.

The three years between 9:37 and 9:40 are a bit weird, because there's meant to be a war going on but nothing really happens until Asunder and The Masked Empire.

It's when all the developers get together and sing this.

You're right, Anders blows up the chantry ( 9:37) and we get some events that set up the masked empire and the comic's (9:38), some other events that lead up to the masked empire, then Asunder and after that is the interrogation of Varic which are in 9:40.

Multiple rounds of applause during the frostbite video. This will make DAI play and look even better than we had planned #sprintreviewday
