The Writers Pit is fantastic.

I picture the Writers Pit as having all these story boards around the room, theres a counter with various coffee makers, and theres always some sort of sugery sweet item for them to nibble on.:)

I also picture the Writers Pit as having a HUGE  toy box for some reason.:wizard::o:lol:

I imagine them having a huge cauldron in the middle of the room.

Filled with our tears?  :devil::lol:

I'm almost certain of it!

Writing scraps and pieces of a scene I've always wanted to do.

Just have to figure out where it's best used. And when. And how to keep it well-paced. And where to branch it. ALL RIGHT. #herewego
-----------
I particularly loved the writing in ME3's time capsule scene, so looking forward to Sylvia's work in DA :D

The more I see tweets from the writers and devs talking about how they're working on dialogue/scenes/etc that they've always dreamt of doing, the more I feel like DA3 is gonna blow our socks off.

Gah, I wish I could see all these awesome things!

Unless this has been brought up before (forgive me if it has) but that Sebastian post the crotch one ehem...isn't it equally as likely that (since it's an image of Andraste) that that is a Chantry/Andrastian structure?

Otherwise love the thread :D

I know! I found my faith again, it was packed neatly with my stash of girlish glee and a set of pom-poms. I'm all set for da3.

There was speculation about this piece of environmental concept art:

Image IPB

It has Andraste's face in various spots, which seems to be the same figurehead that was on Sebastian's belt buckle. To my mind it could indicate that this is a Chantry location, or perhaps some part of Starkhaven, given that we know the Vaels are particularly devout.

(Also keep in mind that the plot of Exalted March is being folded into DA3 in some fashion, we know that the expansion pack would've involved Starkhaven and some other Marshes cities like Est watch. It's not unlikely that the whole Kirkwall/Starkhaven/Sebastian brouhaha will come up again in some form in DA3.)

Haha- thats awesome!

Like I said, I really love that stained glass look and style. Same with the mosaic cutscenes in Baldur's Gate 2. Really like it when game art like that is actually trying to look like real world different forms of art within reason.

They must be working on some sort of rogue ability where you strike an artery and inflict bleeding damage. :)

I know, I know, double post. But it's a different topic.

In my copy of GameInformer that I got yesterday, it as an itty bitty blurb about DA3 in its upcoming stuff. Insterestingly, it says the game is slotted for a 2014 release.

So confusing. I'm still inclined to believe Mike Laidlaw over the magazine when he says it's still on track for late 2013. But still.

Maybe I'm just eager for info (okay, I'm definitely eager for info), but their let's be quiet approach and wait until we have something to show certainly seems to have a disadvantage. If official game publications are getting their info wrong, they could end up with a lot of confusion.

True but  when this particular piece of concept art showed up Mike Laidlaw said we were going somewhere French, which in my mind means Orlais, not that I'm saying your wrong in any regard, however I don't know how much of the cancelled expansion will actually be...I want to say interwoven into the plot and how much will be seperate from what we are getting with DA3. I don't think you or anybody expects it to be slapped on the front for example.

Oh, right. The belt, that's what I was thinking about as well. Thanks!

Damn, you guys are knowledgeable.  I wish I could contribute in some way too.

The very first tidbits of information (it might have even been back in 2011?) for DA3 indicated that the scope of the game spanned a much larger area than just Orlais - from memory it included parts of Ferelden, the Free Marches, etc. Maybe even Tevinter and Navarra.

I can't seem to find a picture online, but Orlais definitely wasn't the limit of the teased setting.

(Surely someone in the twitter thread hivemind has that pic from PAX Prime 2011, I could even add it to the OP.)

*AHEM* Awesome writing inbound! Excellent, excellent! Always good to know the writers are truly excited about the project as well. Enthusiastic writing (by talented, experience authors) is great writing! :wizard:

Yeah, you're right, but I was more talking about that particular picture (not to sound argumentative because it really isn't what I mean to do here) because I took that picture not as something set in stone and rather...a visual representation of how much larger they want the game to be compared to Dragon Age II, but this may not be the place to discuss it. I would be willing to PM you if you did want to go into depth about this though :D

Men can't be filled with girlish glee from time to time? But to be frank, I'm very much a lady. It's just, I played a lot of starcraft a few years back and it got sooooo much easier when I had a male/neutral avatar/nick, then it just kinda stuck. Sorry to cause confusion. Image IPB
