You're right, I just went back and checked. I misremembered what David said there.
 
Still, I'm pretty certain the scribe (for lack of a better name for her) isn't a companion. The party roster is too full already, and several of those survey concept art characters weren't companions (which David *definitely* said). Two of them were actually Inquisitor variations.

I think its pretty reasonable to speculate that Scribe Girl fills a similar role to Traynor and Kelly in ME, an administrative assistant of sorts.

This would be very cool, since Cole seems to be very popular as a request/rumoured companion it would be very interesting to see the events of Asunder continued in game form in Inquisition. Seconded.

I would be surprised if we don't see her in the game in some capacity, or as a companion in future installments. The fact that Wynne died, and gave up her spirit in order to save her is pretty damned impressive. You just don't throw away a character like that.

Yeah - people had suggested she could be an artist, but David seemed really confused when people interpreted that picture as depicting a painter (rather than someone holding a quill and scroll for writing things down). 

 

If the Inquisition's main base is going to be as extensive and full of content as they've been hinting, it'll need a steward (yeoman, even!) of sorts to keep everything organised. I'm actually interested in meeting the character, given that she also appears in the War Room concept art. 

 

(Which, I suppose, also suggests that the Inquisition's fortress has a dedicated War Room. With War Assets? )
