You misunderstood my point. I thought that she was manipulating him based on the letter we found in RtO, even if at that point we had no clue about Celene being lesbian.

I'm still not sure if she was manipulating him or Cailan liked the idea of being the Emperor of Orlais. Frankly, I don't think he would require much manipulation to get into the idea.

I really wanted to like it but it just got too cliche for me: surly badass detective with a funny sidekick partner... in the FUTURE

I stopped watching after the detective blasted another poor police android away and Dorian didn't even bat an eye... even I started to feel sorry for those guys.
